Poe turned her back on them, trembling as she ran down the mountain.
Madden’s right hand went to Adeline’s hair, and she nearly gasped out as he began stroking softly.
It’s the softest thing she has ever seen him do, and the fact that it’s on her awakened something inside of her.
Madden is not gentle.
He might look reserved on the outside, but he’s far from it. He’s a man of little patience and cruel intentions.
She knows that much.
She smiled again and tried tightening the hug for the third time, but that was when he broke it.
He opened the door and stepped in, but she stayed outside.
If she steps into that freezer-like manor with her condition, she’d faint.
She stood there for a minute before Madden came back for her,, his brows arched.
“Air conditioners are off” he told her, and she happily entered.
For the first time since she has been entering this manor, she felt warmness cos the fireplace is set, and she got a clearer view of the living room too.
It’s shrouded in an eerie, crimson glow. The red lights cast an unsettling radiance like embers of a dying fire, illuminating the dark furnishings.
Shadows danced upon the walls as if they’re still alive, twisting and writhing in agony
Expensive candlebras stood like skeletal guardians, their red candles flickering like demonic tongues.
Then it hit her… Madden gave the living room a hell-like design.
How much more twisted and dark can he be?
She was gaping at the designs so much, till Madden’s voice brought her back…
“Are you planning to go to hell?”
She snapped her head towards him, walking fast to meet up
“Only sinners go to hell” she replied.
“And you? You’re clean?” He said, and though his back is on her, she could imagine him smirking as he said that.
“I… Dunno. I’ll just take what I get” she replied as they entered his room together.
“Get some water on your body, you look sick” he told her bluntly, and she felt immense joy immediately.
The bathroom in her residential wing is clean and all that, but his own bathroom is bigger and luxurious, and he uses treated mineral water.
“Yes master” she said and started heading towards the bathroom…
“Strip here” he suddenly said, and she turned back.
“Eh?”
“You heard me” he replied lustfully, resting on the window frame as their eyes met.
A box of cigar is in his right hand, unopened.
Adeline took in his nonchalance for a minute too long before pulling off her blue-streaked shirt, dropping it down beside her foot.
Madden’s eyes didn’t blink at all as he stared.
She took off the black trousers too, and now she’s left in the chest bandage and her boxers.
She hesitated before trying to enter the bathroom again…
“Do you even know the meaning of strip? Your bandages and boxers gotta go. Get those away” he said, his voice carrying more fire this time.
Adeline turned back to him again, her throat choking as she untied the bandage from her chest.
The layers came off till the last one, revealing her boóbs properly.
Madden’s eyes darkened, and she felt so fuçking hot as she slid down her boxers too, leaving her stark naked in front of him.
She slowly covered her boóbs with her palms as his dark eyes roamed her nakedness, and she started feeling too insecure to move.
“Go” he finally told her after three full minutes of staring.
Slowly, she turned and started walking towards the bathroom, hoping she won’t notice the small stretch marks on her @ss.
She developed those marks while in jail, and she had no time to deal with them since then.
She finally entered the bathroom, and Madden smiled the secret smile again which didn’t even last for a millisecond before disappearing from his face.
Is it sick that he likes those stretch marks???

He threw the cigar on the bed and retrieved his phone, texting Selesta to bring food for her.
Lady Selesta brought hot food on a big tray, and Madden went to the door to take it.
“Thanks for finally deciding to forgive Micheal. I knew you wouldn’t stay mad at him for long. He’s your boy anyways” Selesta smiled as she handed the tray to him.
“It was two long days” a tiny voice said behind Selesta.
Madden peeked out to see Angelika, hiding behind Selesta as usual.
“Talking to me?” Madden replied.
“I just hate seeing him suffer. Please take it easy with Michael” Angelika looked up with wet eyes.
“I’ll decide whether or not I’ll take it easy with him. He’s mine” Madden replied coldly.
“You’re too wicked” Angelika replied, finally letting out the tears
“I get that a lot. Now go to bed, kiddo” Madden replied and shut the door.
He could hear Angelika’s cries as Lady Selesta took her down the mountain, and he doesn’t even feel bad for making her cry.
Why would he feel bad when he almost cried blood at the basement when he was a kid?
The basement…
His mind spiralled, and every sound in the manor disappeared, leaving only the sound of the big wall clock.

The sound echoed, and he fell into the past, remembering the night it all started, at the basement.
FLASHBACK, YEARS AGO*
After Ivan’s death, Erik took Klara and her kids back to the clan compound, and a week later, Erik became the new Pakhan.
The celebration was so huge that every powerful influence from the underworld attended.
Throughout the celebration, only Klara could be seen beside Erik.
The only kids visible are eight years old Igor and four years old Sin.
As usual, Madden stayed at the basement, and Maya stayed in her room.
The air around the basement is calm and quiet. Madden likes it a lot.
He loves silence, and pottery.
He moulded close to ten objects that day, and he was moulding his late father’s face when Igor broke into the basement.
“Hey Madden!” He waved, but the taunt in his voice was so obvious.
Cobwebs coiled his face, and he cursed out.
“What the hell! You stay here all day? Are you spiderman or something?”
Madden said nothing, just staring till Igor got to him and carried what he’s moulding.
“Your father’s face? How dumb! You think he’s gonna return from the dead if you mould him? Bullshit!” Igor spat and threw the image on the ground, breaking it.
“Igor!” Sin’s voice hollered from outside, and Igor ran out.
Madden’s numb eyes stayed on the broken image of his father, and he fought back the tears trying to fall.
He went to the wall and starting doing the scribblings.
He was in the middle of it when someone else came in…
Someone wearing a black cloak, masked face like an entity from hell.
Madden named him Masked Monster in his mind immediately.
The appearance is so scary, and of course the start of his sufferings.
As the person came closer and closer, he felt horror.
He badly wants to scream, but when he opened his mouth, nothing came out, cos he’s mute.
Yeah. HE CAN’T TALK.
BACK TO THE PRESENT*
Madden is still standing by the door with the tray of food in his hand, and his eyes red.
He used to be mute as a kid, but none of the mobsters are aware,, and none will ever know.
No one knows what he went through in the hands of the Masked Monster, and he’s not ready to spill that one for anyone too.
It’s his dark little secret.
He continued his journey to the room and set the food on the bed, then he pulled off his shirt.
Darn… He hates this manor right now without the air conditioners, thanks to a particular someone.
He removed the belt from his trousers and threw it on the bed too, then Adeline came out of the bathroom, looking wet, dripping and attractive as fûck in his red towel which looks like it was made for her body.
Madden imagined close to twenty scenerios in his head with her immediately.
He wants to rip off the towel, eat and finger her cûnt till daybreak. At the same time, he wants to hear her cry while he fûcks her like his property, and then again, he wants to see her bleed, make her soak and strangle his c0ck under the red lights.
The scenerios made his head dwindle, and he had to quickly turn away.
If he does any of that with her in her starved condition, she’d die.
No two-way about it, so he’d just postpone it.
“Eat the meal and get some sleep” he told her as he walked out of the room.
“Thank you” she said, but he didn’t even turn back as he entered his workroom.
He needs to mould Corey again and smash it.

COMPOUND, CLINIC*
“Where did you go one hour ago? You clearly heard when the nurses said you’re not strong enough to move” Jinx said as she entered the small ward.
Poe is back inside, sitting up in bed with a mirror in front of her and a raging look in her eyes.
“You mean to tell me this is my face now? Where did my beauty go!!!” She cried.
Jinx took the mirror from her quickly.
“Just rest, you should be thankful you’re still alive” she said, and Poe flared up.
“What did you just say? Then can you give me your face and take mine? Can you?!!” She yelled angrily and almost attacked Jinx.
Loud came in and got between them.
“Seriously why are you awake already? The clan was beautiful without you” he meanly said, and Poe punched him in the face.
Without minding her condition, Loud punched her back, and Poe lost consciousness again, collapsing on the bed.
“What the fûck!” Jinx pushed Loud away roughly.
“Do not touch her again!” She warned.
“I understand she’s like your sister, but there are unworthy friendships and this tops the list. Better warn her to stop hating on Micheal, or she’ll go back to coma” Loud replied and stormed out of the ward.
Jinx called the nurses in, and Poe was attended to.
She became conscious again after an hour, but then she turned her back on Jinx, telling her to get out.
Jinx left the ward reluctantly, and tears came out of Poe’s eyes when she remembered how Madden took her and Jinx from the roadside and payed for their eye surgeries.
Madden was the first guy she saw with her eyes, and since then, she just couldn’t see other guys as handsome again except him.
Now Micheal is here disguised as a guy to have him? And Madden himself is even aware?
He’s protecting her?
That can’t happen on her watch.

MAYA’S SUITE, DAYBREAK*
Ten years old Maya sat in her warm dark room, looking lonely and miserable as fûck, her long dark hair falling on her bum.
She loves seeing fire burn whenever she’s bored, so she started with setting papers on fire, but then she heard about candles, and she ordered tons of it to lighten in her room.
It’s the crowning ceremony of Erik as the new Pakhan, and the compound is bubbling with celebration, but she’s trapped here as usual.
She can’t even go to the basement to visit her brother since it’s unallowed.
She was lightning her candles when the door barged open, and a figure clad in black came in, wearing a black cloak and mask.
Her heart jumped to her throat, and she dropped the lighter, shifting back fearfully.
“Wh… who’re you?” She stuttered
Without replying, the Masked Monster shut the door and started coming fast for her.
“Arhhhhhh!!!!!” Maya screamed back to life, sitting up in bed as sweat journeyed down her face to her chest.
It’s a nightmare about the past, a reminder of how she and Madden got haunted by the Masked Monster.
The monster who made their madness worse, and till now, they dunno who’s behind the mask.
She shut her eyes, balancing her breaths before climbing down the tall bed.
She proceeded to the living room, then Trixie came in.
“Go back, I don’t wanna talk to you” Maya turned her back immediately.
“I guess Madden told you already” Trixie replied guiltily.
“Why did you do it? Lying to Micheal that he’s Corey, and making him poison my brother” Maya faced her angrily, and Trixie’s eyes widened.
“Poison? No that wasn’t my intention I swear! I just…
“I’ve always treated you like my sister , Trixie. Remember you’re not an Orlov, and you’re not a Smirnov either. You don’t belong here and I dunno why Erik took you in, but you might wanna watch what you do concerning my brother. I play with knives and fire all day, but I don’t play with Madden!!” Maya yelled, and Trixie flinched.
“I’m sorry… Big sis I am” she sobbed.
“Thank your stars that he only got hurt. If he had died, I’d have eaten you raw” Maya continued.
“I’m sorry” Trixie cried guiltily, rushing out of the room.
Andrei came back in, the Maya released a exhale.
“Seems you’re not in a good mood” he said and made to leave…
“Stay” she quickly said, and he came back.
She sat on the armchair, and he sat on the table in front of her.
He took her arm and checked out the wound progress. It’s luckily better.
“Don’t hurt yourself for the rest of this week” he said.
“The Thunder Tribe mission tomorrow, will your team be going? I heard the Elder of the Tribe is Mercy… That insane woman” She asked.
“Ask Igor yourself” he stood.
“I’ll get your tea” he said, leaving the room.
“@sshole” she muttered.

Trixie hasn’t gone far from Maya’s suite when he bumped into Sin who caught her before she could fall.
“Trix! I’ve been looking all-over for…
He stopped talking when he saw the tears in her eyes.
“Trix”
“This place is not for me. Maya hates me now” she shook her head.
“But I don’t hate you. You have me” he assured, holding her face.
“You won’t later hate me?” She sniffled.
“No way in hell… Come here” he pulled her with him, towards his suite.
From the side balcony of the house of Orlovs, Erik stood in a foreboding manner, his gawky eyes on the two.
Klara joined him shortly, and when she saw the two, she smiled.
“I understand you, no sensible Pakhan will want his strongest son to fall for an ordinary girl” she said tauntingly.
“Sin is not my strongest son. He knows nothing but systems, so quit trying to provoke me” Erik replied sharply.
“Then is Igor the strongest son? That one with zero abilities? He’s nothing but a spoilt child, and Madden will crush millions of him down the dust. Admit it” Klara taunted again.
“This is why your husband cheated on you and died on another woman” Erik clapped back.
“Oh Erik, we both know you killed my husband to take over his place… Admit it, old @ss!” Klara fired back, adjusting the muffler on her neck.
“Believe whatever you want, Klara. Truth is, i know nothing about Ivan’s death, and when I die, we both know I have a strong son to take over. Madden will not become the future Pakhan!” Erik slammed and stormed in.
Klara smiled sinisterly, running her long beige manicured nails on the golden rails.
