Around nine o’clock in the morning, I was still lying down outside the gate of Somadina’s house, where I had slept for the night, when the gateman opened the gate for Somadina parents and was shocked to see me outside the gate.

“Did you sleep here?” He asked and I answered ‘yes’.

“Ah! That means the matter wey you carry come here dey serious oh” He said.

Somadina’s parents drove out and were also surprised to see me outside their gate.

“Young lady, what are you still doing in my house?” The father asked.

“I slept outside here sir because I had nowhere to go and I’m determined to save your son today” I answered.

He turned and made eye contact with the wife and then turned to me.

“You aren’t serious; are you?”

“I’m serious sir. Your son needs my help and I will do my best to save him” I answered.

He said nothing. He just thought for a while, looking surprisingly at me, with Somadina’s mother. After they were satisfied with the thoughts going on in their minds as the looked at me, or perhaps after the were satisfied examining me, they continue to drive out to where they were going, without saying a word to me.

After a while, the gateman had compassion on me. He let me in, shared his food with me and gave me water to have my birth and new clothes to wear and I was grateful. I used the opportunity to wash my clothes and it got dried before three o’clock.

I never saw Somadina again after he vanished at midnight and till this moment. The hour of four o’clock, which is the time I will be going to Shegu’s house, was approaching, yet Somadina didn’t show up; I didn’t also see any sign of his friends. I became worried. What couldve happened to him? Is there anything going on that he didn’t tell me? Many questions ran in my mind but I kept my cool, and didn’t resist paying profoundly to God, to grant me Successful rescue mission.

At exactly four o’clock prompt, I prayed profoundly again. The gateman was just watching me and hearing all that I was asking God to grant me. At a point, he started saying ‘amen’ to my prayers and it gave me the sense that he believed me. He believed that Somadina was in trouble; that he was trapped in Shegu’s house; that I had come all the way for Abia State; determined to rescue him and this made me courageous, that even if I die, at least someone from Somadina’s house is aware that I died risking my life to save Somadina.

When I was done praying, I changed into the clothes I had washed which were all dried; I mean, the clothes I wore from my home. I remembered that Somadina told me to dress like a prostitute so that the gateman in Shegu’s house would believe that I was one of those ladies Shegu’s father usually bring home and he will let me in, so I twisted my shirt to bring out my shape and then I drew my skirt up to make it short and I folded the upper side of my skirt so as to reveal my waist and it made me look so sexy.

“I will be on my way now sir” I told the gateman and started going to Shegu’s house to rescue Somadina. Fear was making my body to quiver. My heart was beating uncontrollably. I was so scared of what might happen to me if Shegu’s father catches me, yet I continued walking to Shegu’s house, to rescue Somadina.
