As soon as Davina stop her sport car in front of the mansion, Mitchell got out of it, running up the stairs and into the mansion.
She almost bump into Martha as she ask about Damian.
“He’s in his room and with his….wife” Martha voice trail off as Mitchell ran past her, heading to Damian’s room.
She rapidly knock on the door as soon as she got there and when the door open to reveal Damian, she move towards him and gave him a kiss.
June who showed up at that moment was surprised by the scene in front of her.
Damian ended the kiss by pushing Mitchell away from him.
“What’s this?” Damian ask not yet noticing June.
“Do you know how worried I was? When I heard about the accident, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat. I was so worried to the bone, are you okay?” Mitchell ask, clasping his cheek and once again Damian pulled off her hand.
It was then they notice June. Damian watch Mitchell walk towards June.
“You must be June, right? The girl claiming to be Damian’s wife. Am Mitchell Jones, a very close friend of Damian” She said, stretching forth her hand and out of courtesy June took hold of her hand too.
“I will admit that she’s pretty but all pretty girls are clever and they tend to be very clever when it comes to a man like you, Damian” Mitchell added insultingly.
“I think it’s best we talk outside” Damian said, pulling her out of the room.
“What? But I want to know your wife more, I need to know what she offered you to get you to the altar” Mitchell said as he pulled her out of the room.
“That was insulting ” Damian said as soon as they were out of his room.
“It is insulting since I wanted to be insulting. I just can’t believe that you marry a girl like her? She isn’t even someone of your calibre and yet, you choose her?” Mitchell demanded.
“I chose her because she is the one. I didn’t choose her for anything else and so, if you want us to keep being friends. You’ve got to respect my wife” Damian warn.
“She’s not your wife. I won’t accept it”
“You will have to”
“But I love you. I told you that I wanted us to get back with each other before you left for your trip. If I had known that you will go there and get married, I would have gone with you” Mitchell said, tears glistening in her eyes.
“Even if you had come along. My answer will still be the same which is no. I didn’t plan on getting back together with you and I never will. What happen between us is in the past and it’s best we keep it that way” Damian said and that got Mitchell, running down the stairs and out of the mansion, ignoring Davina call.
June was standing against the window frame when Damian return.
“You made her cry” June said the first thing that came to mind.
She had followed them to listen to their conversation and seeing Mitchell get hurt made June feel sad.
If she hadn’t shown up, Mitchell might probably be the one with Damian right now…not only is she ruining things for Damian, she’s also ruining things for the one around him.
“The kiss. It isn’t what you think it is” Damian said.
“I know. She must have taken you by surprise and that’s because she missed you” June said, defending Mitchell.
“So, you aren’t angry?” Damian ask.
“Am not”
“You aren’t Jealous too?”
“I have no reason to be angry neither do I have a reason to be jealous since I feel nothing for you” June suddenly said.
“But you….”
“I know I said that it’s because you lied to me that I want a divorce. Well, I lied too. The real reason I want a divorce is because I no longer love you. The love isn’t there again” June lied through her teeth knowing that this will certainly get some reaction from him.
“If you are angry because of what you saw with me and Mitchell then you….”
“How many times do I have to tell you that am not angry! I just don’t love you anymore can’t you accept that and grant me the divorce?” She demanded.
“I already told you that I won’t! Tell me honestly? Is there another reason you want a divorce, if you tell me what it is, you might be able to change my mind”
“I want a divorce and that’s because I no longer love you. Accept it as it is” She return fiercely and went towards her bag to pull out the new form Greg gave her.
“Sign the document and grant me my divorce! I can’t stand you anymore” she added and after putting the form on the desk, she left the room.
Luckily for her, none of the Brooks family were around when she left the mansion.
Whenever she’s down, the only person she can rely on is Wayne and it’s been three days since she’s seen him which is why she hail a taxi, directing him to the dog’s domain.
As soon as she got there, she was led in him by the receptionist and when the receptionist had an urgent call, June assure him that she will find Marshall herself.
