    Your mother’s name is Abike.
    Your mother is from a kingdom called ile-aje (Land of Wealth) The kingdom is the largest kingdom among the eleven kingdoms surrounded the seventh sea . Your mother use to make and sell aso oke at the village square every market days. Your mother was so beautiful that many villagers wanted her hand in marriage.

    The king of the kingdom heard about her aso oke and decided to buy from her. She went to the palace to sell her aso oke and the king got so distracted by her beauty and decided to marry her as his 6th wife. Your mother refused to marry the king as his 6th wife and she hurriedly left the palace that day. The king got so angry that no one dare refuse his offer or advances in the kingdom of ile-aje. He decided to invite her to the palace for the second time to speak to her about marrying her as the 6th wife. She told her parent about the king but her parent was not in support of marrying the king but they told her to honour the invitation.

    She honoured the invitation at once and went to the palace. On sighting the king, she knelt down as a sign of respect to the king. The king asked her again to marry her and become the sixth wife but again she refused and ran away from the palace with tears in her eyes. At once the king told the palace guards to find her parent and bring them to the palace. The guards got to their house and brought your parent before the king.

    The king told them to make sure the persuade their daughter to accept his marriage proposal and they promised to do as the king as said. Many people spoke to your mother to marry the king but she refused. Instead of marrying the king, she married a farmer. The king was expecting to hear good news from her but instead, he heard your mother is now married to Alabi(The village head farmer).

    The king got so furious that no one dare challenge him or refuse his offer. The king decided to plot evil and set her husband up. He invited her husband to the palace. He didn’t want to go but Abike adviced to go thinking he might want to make peace. The husband listened and decided to honour the invitation. When he got to the palace, he was greatly welcomed and it made him happy. The king them told him he has a big land he wants to give to him for farming as a gift for marrying a beautiful wife and as the head of farmers in the kingdom. Alabi her husband happily accepted the offer and went back home to tell his wife Abike your mother.

    They were both Happy and they slept happily that day. Few days later, he went to the land giving to him by the king to start planting, behold so many villagers lead by the village guards and Elders came to the land calling him a thief for using a land that does not belong to him. He told them it was a gift from the king but they failed to listen and the king denied giving him permission to use any land in the Village. For that reason, the whole villagers became so angry and wanted him to be punished severely. They all gathered at the Village square and the king pronounced that he must be killed and his body will be thrown into the forest. They killed your father in the village square and no one found his body.

    Abike your mother cried so much with pregnancy and continued to cry till she gave birth to you. Few weeks later, they gave birth to you. After your birth, the king heard about your birth and got so angry again that he doesn’t want any child to come from your father because that child may hear the story of your father’s death and choose to revenge. So he made a pronouncement that an evil child has been given birth to and that child will cause calamity upon the land if the child is not killed, your mother understood why the king made such statement and decided to keep you away.

    When bisola heard how her father was killed and how the king had planned to kill her, she cried so much and the grandma also cried……. Bisola then asked the Grandma where her mother was and why is that strange man that keep appearing to her and why is he appearing to her.
    The Grandma paused for a short time, before she could say anything, bisola saw a beautiful woman who called her name and she stood up with surprise.

Bisola consoled her but was very surprised and eager to hear the story. The Grandma wiped her tears and continued the story……She said “I was very young when got married.

    After so many years, I couldn’t give birth, my husband got so frustrated and stopped caring for me. One day he packed his belongings and went away telling me not too look for him that he will another woman that will bear children for him. It brought so much Shame and pains to me. The villagers were always abusing me and calling me different names. I felt so frustrated and tired of life to an extent that I decided to kill myself. The day I went into the bush to kill myself, I found your mother also trying to dump you inside the bush. Your were just a 2 months old baby then. I was wondering why your mother decided to dump such a beautiful baby like you.

    So I asked her for the reason and she narrated the whole story me and I felt so pity for her that I even forgot that I also came into the bush to kill myself. She handed you over to me to care for you. She left that day and promised to return to take you back.

    Since then I have not set my eyes on your mother. Bisola was shocked and tears started dropping from her eyes, after few seconds, she wiped her tears and asked the Grandma why her mother wanted to Dump her inside the bush. Bisola kept wondering why her mother choose to Dump her in the bush. She asked her Grandma if she was an evil child to her mother but the Grandma drew her closer and told her that she was not an evil child.

    The Grandma also reminded her that she would have killed herself that day of not that she found her mother who was trying to Dump her inside the bush. Bisola asked her again about the reason why the Grandma wanted to dump her in the bush. The Grandma continued the story, narrating why the mother wanted to Dump her in that Bush.

    Bisola was a village girl who grew up under the watch of a Grand mother, She lived in the Village for so long and has already lost hope about traveling out of the village. She stopped her Education at Junior secondary school in her Village and couldn’t further her education beyond J.s.s at the village.

    Their only means of survival was to gather firewood from the bush and sell. She was happy staying and helping the Grandma. She wasn’t worried about school because no one could afford to sponsor her education. She was comfortable with her life in the village. She woke up with fear one morning screaming and shouting, the Grandma managed to calm her and ask her the problem, she narrated that someone appeared in her dream trying to talk to her but she didn’t want to listen and that was why she kept screaming. The same dream happened several times and she kept screaming.

    One morning, she went into the bush to look for firewood, she met some other children in the bush that were talking about cultural competition and she decided to join the conversation but they ignored her, called her names, made jest of her and told her she can’t participate because of her family atrocities.
    That made her feel so bad and moody, she got home and asked the mother what happened in her family and why the villagers keep talking about her family atrocities. The Grandma kept silent for a long time and tears started dropping from her eyes.

    Bisola kept wondering why the Grandma was crying but the Grandma couldn’t say anything. Later that night, they went to sleep and bisola ran out of the house crying and screaming that the Grandma woke up walked up to her. The Grandma asked her what Happened and she narrated the same dream she has been having about a man appearing to her and trying to talk to her. After Narrating the dream, She also asked the grandma why she doesn’t have siblings and relatives that has come to visit them.

    The Grandma after hearing the story of the dream again and the question about not having siblings or relatives that comes to visit them, she cried and told Bisola to sit down for her to explain why she has been having that dream and who the strange man is…….as soon as they both sat down, the tears started dropping from the Grandma’s eyes and she started narrating the story of her family to her.
