đŸ§‘â€đŸ’Œ The Man I Married Episode Four: 💞

It’s three weeks to our passing out parade popularly known as POP and I am yet to hear anything from the love of my life. If he was dead I would have mourned him, if he had jilted me I would have been pained. But he just disappeared into thin air without leaving a trace of what might happened to him. At this time my hope of seeing Preye again became weak by the day because age is no more on my side.

Janet has been a good friend all through my trying times. She had advised me to open my heart to other guys that are showing interest in me. ‘If Preye is your own, God will surely bring him back.’ She has since been my confidant and companion. We talk together, pray together, eat together and do everything together.

My place of primary assignment proposed to retain me after our POP with a relatively good package. I had told them I will need a two weeks break after our POP to enable me sort out some issues before resuming work in earnest. The two weeks permission I took was of course to further search for Preye. I will go to their family house in Rumu-ola in Portharcourt and know what exactly has happened to Preye. I prayed in my mind “oh God do not let anything bad happen to him”.

After our POP I set out for Portharcourt to see my family and Preye’s family. When I got home my mum and dad were so happy to see me but Abigail’s mood was not welcoming. ‘Abigail, aren’t you happy to see me after a whole year? I asked her. She couldn’t control her tears when we both looked at each other eyeball to eyeball. Abigail is my younger sister, I grabbed her and kissed her fore head. ‘Tell me why you are crying Abigail, I turned to ask my mum why Abigail was crying but her eyes changed like a cloud about to rain.

Immediately I knew something bad had happened behind me. ‘How is Philip and his wife? I asked.’ They’re fine my mum responded. ‘What of aunty Felicia? She’s fine too.’ my mum assured me. Then what must have gone wrong? I thought within me.

My father broke the silence without beating around the bush. ‘Preye was kidnapped by ritualists on his way to Calabar to see you on the 15th of March. His corpse was discovered by the Police after the second day after the ritualists plugged out his two eyes and removed his manhood. I went blank immediately and I didn’t know what happened again until I woke up on the hospital bed.’

‘Thank God you are feeling better Sobiefaa.’ I heard my mum’s voice faintly. I need not ask anyone why I am here, I knew I went unconscious after the bad news about Preye. But why did they keep this away from me all this while? Why didn’t I hear it from other sources, why didn’t anybody post his obituary on Facebook or any of the social media we both belong to? Why will he come to Calabar without informing me? Maybe he wanted to give me a surprise visit. But Kaduna to Calabar is not like Portharcourt to Bayelsa na, it’s almost a day’s journey. I asked a million questions that had no answer to right on the hospital bed. After two days I was discharged from the hospital to face my agony.

I tried to put myself together but that was not easy at all. I know going to see Preye’s family especially his mum is another bridge I have to cross in pain. I couldn’t withstand seeing his mum crying over him yet this is what I must do. When I arrived Preye’s family house on Sunday, it was like my presence opened up a fresh wound. We sobbed from 11am till 8pm non stop. We cried as if he just died yesterday. We all planned to hide this from you, knowing how much Oghenepreye meant to you.’ Preye’s mum told me.

    😍 Blind Love Part Two:

“Desmond, I’m Sorry, I can’t marry a blind man” Theresa responded

That statement re-echoed loudly in Desmond’s ear he woke up with a loud a loud wail immediately, it was a dream

“Ahhhhh, thank God it is a dream, thank God, ahhhhhh” he exclaimed and swiftly rubbed his eyes roughly,

He remembered he went to the cinema with Theresa the previous day and came back home only to find himself thinking about her till he enventually slept off and found himself dreaming about giving his eyes to her because of love.

“how would I be so dumb to give my eye to a lady just because of love, never, I will never do that” Desmond said snapping his fingers over his head, then he began to pray profusely

After few minutes of prayer, he checked the time, he did the daily routine and chores, prepared his breakfast and left for work.

In the evening, by 4pm when he closed for work, he had a phone call from Theresa

“Desmond, how are you and how is work?” Theresa asked

“It’s fine, we bless God for today” Desmond responded

“Yes,, I’m just so bored here, are you not coming today? And besides, and have something important to tell you” Theresa announced and Desmond’s had a skipped heart heart

“I’m on my way to your house actually” Desmond responded

“Oh nice, I will be waiting for you” Theresa said smiling

The moment Desmond got home, he showered, took something light changed his clothes and he went straight to Theresa.

Desmond got to Theresa’s residence and he met her already outside looking unhappy and worried

“I’m here Theresa” Desmond said, and Theresa faked a smile but Desmond could noticed that. Desmond led her to the mango tree again and they started their conversations again.

“Theresa, you said, you wanted to tell me something, Theresa what is it” Desmond asked impatiently

“Desmond, I have a dream about you” Theresa said

“Dream” Desmond asked with a surprising look

“Yes, and I’m so worried about it since I woke up this morning”

“What is the dream all about, you’re putting me into suspense please” Desmond said

“You broke my heart, I saw you coming to me, giving me your wedding invitation and you told me to my face that you’re inviting me to your wedding ceremony, you even said I should meet your wife” Theresa said and started crying

Desmond became dumbfounded, he couldn’t say a word as he was totally confused.

“I’m so worried, the dream might come to pass” Theresa said, sniffing and crying profusely

“Theresa, remember it’s just a dream, you don’t have to cry, stop it, if you should cry because of what you saw in your dream, then I should be shedding blood because my own dream is way worse than yours” Desmond said

“Your dream, what is it all about” Theresa said

“Let’s leave that till another time, so was it the dream that gave you the impression that I’m going to leave you. Remember i could see a lot of ladies but I chose to stand by you since all these while. You should know me, I can’t be so heartless to leave you alone afterall” Desmond cajoled

“Okay, Desmond, do you really love me?” Theresa asked

    “Yes, I do” Desmond replied

“Promise you’re not going to leave me” Theresa asked

“I won’t leave you, I promise” Desmond said

“Uhmm, okay, if truly you love me, would you me this favor Desmond”

“What is that, if it’s actually within my reach, I will”

“I wish to see, yes, I’m tired of been blind since all these while, I wish I can see the world again, and you can actually”

“Theresa, you know what, let’s be going home, it’s dark already, we will continue tomorrow” Desmond cut in and stood up immediately and started leading Theresa home

“And less I forget, inform your mom that I will be traveling soon, probably tommorow, and I’m no more using that number again, I’ve changed it”

    “Desmond but”

“Noooo, you don’t have to bother yourself, we will talk later huh? You know I love you ehn?”

Desmond led Theresa home finally, he paced up, he took his both footwear and ran away.

Since then, Desmond Never showed up to Theresa again..

    …The End….
