Daniel heard her shout and rushed out to see what happened. he came out and saw that she was about to hit the phone too.

“Hey,stop it!! He shouted which made her to stop in the process.

Daniel smiled hearing that she called his mobile phone witch because of the beeping light.

Back to the village where Ekaette came from. they were all expecting her return even at the late hour of the night wondering what could have made her not to return or could she be in trouble?

Sleep finally took over her mom who finally slept off.

It was already morning, she woke up feeling weak. she yawned and stretched her body a little before stepping out of the bed.

Daniel woke up too not too long and he helped her in some things and teaching her the way to use it. even when he knew that she was going back that morning, but he has to do it because one day she might need to use this things.

Daniel kept stealing glances at her which she noticed and pretend as of she saw nothing.
They were still eating in the dinning eating breakfast. the silence was too much, only the sound of the spoon and plates was heard.

She observed Daniel from the corner oh her eyes and saw him staring at her without eating his food.

“What’s it? she finally broke the silence

Meanwhile Daniel was busy staring at her pink lips which she noticed. instead of him to reply her, he lend closer to her and planted a pleasurable kiss on her lips which she did not refuse but reciprocate to the kiss. The tension was so hot and Daniel felt like not letting her go again.

They continue kissing for what seems like eternity even when they don’t know each other very well. she finally broke up from the kiss.
She enjoyed it but she was so shy to admit it.

They finally round off the breakfast.

It was 7:45am and the streets was already busy. they stepped out of the house and Daniel locked the door heading to his car with Ekaette following him. she now knows what a car is and she is not afraid of it again.
They enter and Daniel set the car in motion.

People were outside in the early morning of the day expecting Ekaette return especially someone like her mom who had not rest since she left.

Just as they were expecting, they sighted Daniel’s car from afar. they jump up knowing fully well that she’s the one coming.

She stepped out of the car and people rushed to hug her for her return especially her mom. her long black was like that of a goddess which added to her beauty.

After telling the story of how her journey was and how serious the people were to the whole village, she handed them the money which was more than a surprise to them.

“I should be on my way now, I have to attend to some things in my office” Daniel announced his leave and stood up heading to his car. he entered it and was to set the car on motion. Ekaette knock softly on the car window which he whined it down.

“I just wanted to say bye bye and thank you for everything “she smiled and flash him a smiled which was more like a smile of a goddess and Daniel smiled back.

He looked at her retrieving figure untill she was out of sight.he drove off.

30 minutes and he is already feeling like staying with her for the rest of his life because of her funny character. he didn’t know the time be drove into the speed lane on the highway which another driver keep blowing his horn. he didn’t hear it because his mind was thinking of Ekaette.

“Get out of the way idiot ” the other driver said to him after overtaking him which he realized that he was on the speed lane.
He drove to his company directly, park the car and head out to his office but the face of the pretty goddess kept displaying in his memory which he found it difficult to concentrate. The worst part of it is that he didn’t even asked her whether she has a phone.

After work that day, he decided to go back to the village and visit Ekaette.
everyone were surprised to see him in the village alone, they thought he was to come back with his men. or is he here to take back the money? they asked themselves thus generating fear among them which he noticed.

He stepped out of the car and walked towards them.

“I forgot my wrist watch, please did any of you saw it? he lied

“What Is wrist watch? they all asked this making him to remember they are not exposed to such things .All this while he had been stretching his neck whether she will see Ekaette coming because she was not there but all his efforts was fruitless.

He hop into his car and zoom off.

Daniel walked up to where he packed his car, and all the people were staring at him strangely.
He took time and examined the car and he noticed that they have damaged the car so badly. he shook his head and went back to the Hut to continue his conversation with the old man meanwhile the environment has started becoming dark due to the time it was 🕒 and Daniel didn’t noticed that.

They finally came out only to discover that it was too late them to go back to the city that night because there was no means of transportation. They were so scared of sleeping in the place but they had no other option than to sleep.
The man offered them mat to lie down and they were looking at the mat strangely because non of them has ever slept in it before. They collect it and the old man showed them to lie on it which they did after.

Everyone slept off except Ekaette who sat inside their Hut starring at the car to see what it will turn into. Sleep finally took over her and she doze off.

Daniel woke up feeling pains all over his body due to the fact that he slept on the floor. they were offered water. they washed their face after which Daniel called the company for another car which arrived later..

“As we have said before sir, you need to choose someone to follow us to the city and then take the information of what he or she sees there to you people for you to believe us”Dan said after a minute of silence.

“Let’s go outside for that ” said the old man who led the way out of the Hut
He climbed up an old mountain, that is their way of assembling all the villagers. he rang the bell which people heard and woke up wondering what could be the cause of this early alarm.

“My people, “the old man began
“This young men here earlier what brought them to this village “he paused and looked at the people wondering what will be their reactions when they heard that one person must follow them to the city.
“And as a result of that, someone will be choosed to follow them to the city and bring back news to us”
“What? they all exclaimed
Ekaette found her way out of the crowd .

“No one is leaving this, they want to use us for rituals “she said
Daniel smiled wondering where she gathered the mind from
“You this lady, what do you know than to always choke mouth on important issues ,and as a matter of fact you are the one choosen to follow them”

“You must be kidding, my daughter is going nowhere “The mother said dragging Ekaette to herself

Daniel was enjoying the drama, so he stood smiling to nothing in particular.

After too much of arguing, they finally allowed Ekaette to follow them ,they warned them that nothing should happen to her.

She followed them to where they packed the car, the was engine was just still in vibration. everyone entered the car only her was left alone. Daniel gave her a go ahead gesture to enter.
She finally did. The car was set in motion which startled her and she shouted. the people thought that something bad had happened to her so they pursued the car running,
“Increase the speed”Daniel told the driver which he obediently did.

After two hours drive they finally get to the company. They alighted the car and Ekaette looked at the environment which looks strange to her. she took her time to capture everything into her memory.

“Let’s go inside ”
Daniel’s voice interrupted her from her unbelievable seeing.
she followed Daniel inside.
Daniel led the way heading to his office meanwhile the other people went to their different offices too.

Dan entered the elevator and asked her to come in which she did. He pressed the button and the elevator started it’s work. seeing that, Ekaette shouted and hitting Daniel hard to drop her down.
“Drop me down! “she shouted hitting him which he tried to calm her down and it was abortive.
“I said let me down “she said and hit Daniel real hard on the tummy which he held tightly feeling the pain.

He groaned in pain and finally the elevator finally get to a stop and the door fling open.
Ekaette with full speed ran out of the elevator not knowing where she is heading to.

“Hey girl, take it easy and come back here or else you will get lost ”
She didn’t listen to him rather continue running, she saw cars moving she ran expecting to get to where she saw the cars, on the process she hit herself on the class door and fall down.
“I told you not to run”Daniel voice echoed from a corner.

She looked up and saw him walking to where she sat, she stood up and started running, trying to pass Daniel and on the process she jamb him real hard which they fall down together in way that she’s on top Daniel.

They stayed like that for some seconds,just then the door fling open and Sandra walked him. immediately she saw them that way he mode changed into a scary one.
“So sorry to interrupt you guys “she said and head out again thinking that Daniel will call him back but he didn’t which make her feel bad
They finally stood up, and she was a little bit calm this time around. He adjusted his clothes and opened his office which they entered together.

They sat down, and he took off his tie and continue his which made Ekaette to stair at him in awe wondering what he was about doing. Daniel sat down.
“Welcome to our company “he said stretching his hand to her for a handshake and she declined it.
“I’m Daniel by name, what’s yours

“I’m Ekaette “she finally replied and her voice was like that of a fallen angel. it was like a surprise to Daniel that she finally talked back to him.
“What’s this? she asked referring to the books on the table.
The question sounds like a drama to Daniel because nobody in his rightful can ask that. a book is writing which everyone knows.
“It’s called a book”he replied
“What’s it for “?he asked again

“Don’t tell me you are kidding, you don’t know what a book is used for?
She shook her head negatively.
Am dead, Daniel said in his mind.

“OK its used for writing ”
“Thank you “she said
“What are they doing? she asked referring to the picture on the back of the book.
Daniel arch his brows knowing what it takes for him to answer the question but he was happy that she’s getting along.

“They are kissing “he replied
“What is a kiss?
Daniel smiled.
“I can only explain that one with action “he said scratching his head praying she knows what he means.
“Then explain it na because I need the answer “she said not knowing the meaning.
He narrowed his eyes at her reply.

Daniel woke up early, he looked at his wall clock and the time reads 6:45am. He stood up and yawn stretching his body, he entered his bathroom, brush his mouth and took a quick shower. Few minutes later he was done bathing, water was still dripping on his masculine body.he entered his room and clean his body, applied some cream and dress up.
He looked so handsome in the dress. it was a T-shirt with jeans trouser couple with white canvas. he didn’t worry about breakfast since he was living alone. He took his car key and go his way.

On getting to the company, he saw Emma’s car driving in at the same time. he alighted from his car and wave at Emma and then entered the building.he walked to the elevator,press the button it open. He finally dropped on the last floor, open his office and enter.Daniel sat down going through the documents he signed the previous night just then the ringing tone of his phone interrupted him, he looked at the screen and it was his boss. he picked it and put it on speaker still concentrating on the documents.

“I need you in my office now “the voice sounded
“OK sir I will be there soon”
He hung up the call and headed to his manager office. he knocked and enter after being told to enter.
“Good morning sir”he greeted
“Yeah good morning Dan”
“Sir, you called me”

“Yes I did, how was the trip you and your team went on yesterday “?he asked still concentrating on his laptop.

“Sir it was not a pleasant one, but we postpone it till today”he said crossing his legs

“OK, that’s what I wanted to know, make sure you go there today and bring me the information because the land is said to be full of oil and we can’t loose it to our opponent”he concluded and signalled him to go.

Daniel took his team this time around they were five in number, they began the journey again to the village to continue their research.
Ekaette was outside peeling yam for her mother when she sighted their car again, she ran inside the house and bang the door.
“Mother! “she yelled
“Yes, what’s it?
“They are here again “she responded
“Who?
“The people that came yesterday “.
Her mom rushed passed her and looked through the window and saw Daniel stairing strangely at the environment.

The whole village was deserted due to the presence of Daniel and his team, they thought that they were there to harm them because they have never seen something like a car before.

“Listen everyone”Daniel shouted after he has waited for long without seeing any one.
People began to slowly opened their windows, looking strangely at them wondering what he has to say.

“We are not here to harm anyone “He began after gaining their attention.

“You just have to come out first and hear us out”.He said

Doors began making cracking sounds thereby signalling that they wanted to come out. Finally everyone came out from their hiding place, and Daniel was happy that finally he has been able to convince them. It was only Ekaette left in their Hut. she didn’t want to come out because of the dream she had the previous night.

“Thank you all for coming out, we are here on a mission in this village. we all here works at Lucad sons oil and gas company. we have discovered that there’s oil here in your land and we are here to make a difference in the land. he looked at everyone and began
“So we came to see the head of this village so as to discuss this issue with him.
“We don’t have any village head here”An elderly man said pushing himself out of the crowd to have a better discussion with them.

Daniel ordered his men to reverse the car,Emma entered his car. immediately he onn the car. They all ran back to their Hut while some took stones getting ready to attack.

“Wo wo wo, wait we mean no harm it’s just a car,it won’t do any harm it’s just for moving people from one place to another “Daniel spoke to them signalling them to calm down which they finally did.
The old man finally took them to his house and they discussed the issue in there.

While they were all inside the man’s hut and everyone had retired to their huts making the environment to be deserted. Ekaette sneak out of the house and head to where they parked the car. she reached there.
She looked at the car strangely and admiring it’s beauty. she touched the car.

Unknowingly to her, the car alarm started making noise, everyone came out of their Hut and saw the car trafficators blinking the yellow light,they thought that it will harm them. they all gather stones and threw at the car thus resulting in damaging the car totally.
Daniel heard the shattered sound from inside the Hut he came and saw them hitting the car with sticks and stones.

“What? he exclaimed.
