Qiqii Turns Up the Heat with Afro-Pop Single “Onyeocha”
The Abuja-based independent artist, formerly known as Wealth Asuquo, delivers a high-energy record built on bounce, melody and mischief.
Independent Afro-fusion singer-songwriter Qiqii (Wealth Asuquo, born Life Etim Wealth Macleod) has released her new single “Onyeocha.” It is out now on Spotify, Apple Music and Audiomack.
Produced by Mr Soul and written with collaborator Tosin Koroma, “Onyeocha” pairs Afro-pop bounce and rich melodies with an altΓ©-leaning sensibility. It follows her recent singles “Komin,” “Sin-Idem” and “Stingy.”
An Akwa Ibom native from Oron, Qiqii began singing in church before moving into live band work. She has performed as a live and backup vocalist alongside Niniola, Awilo Logomba and Timi Dakolo, and has appeared on Johnny Drille Live 2024 and Lona 2025. She began as Wealth Asuquo, releasing the Wealthy Vibes EP (2022) and the socially conscious single “Sapa Na Bastard,” and now records as Qiqii. She has kept full creative control throughout and releases independently.
Her music mixes sweet and savage. Think of it as a late-night voice note from your funniest, softest, most dramatic friend.
