“Understood?” She asked and he nodded.
“Yeah.. And now I can see why I failed coz it’s the complete opposite of what I wrote” Calvin said
“That’s coz you’re a dummy.. Big time one” She smirked.
“I’m really glad you’re not crying over Roman..” Calvin said and Catalina smiled slightly.
“To be honest, I liked him.. Alot. He was the first man that was sweet and kind with me and as such I thought he was different from all of them,, but I think that was just where it ended… I thought that with dating him, I would be able to get over this phobia but it didn’t help. Yunno, if he just cheated on me I would have understood because no man will accept to date someone like me.. But the fact that he was just using me all along, that’s the part that got me so mad and hurt and for that I’ll make sure his company falls for that.” Catalina said.
“That’s my sis..” Calvin smiled..
“I don’t think I can ever get over this phobia… Maybe I’m just better off like this,, minding my own business. I don’t think I can ever trust another man Calvin. No matter how hard I try, it’s still there… Calvin tell me do you know why this phobia started? Why can’t I remember it… I seem to remember everything but the reason why I have this phobia I can’t.. Why?” Catalina asked.
Calvin took in his lips and looked down.
“Umm… Catalina, the thing is-”
“Dinner is ready!” Sarah came to the living room and announced.
“I’m starving!!” Calvin used that opportunity to leave.
Catalina stood too and walked to her mother..
“Mom, I applied for a job and hopefully I’ll get it. From what I’m hearing, the job pays better than my former one. Maybe with that we can sponsor Calvin to high school in case he doesn’t make it again” Catalina said and Sarah smiled.
“You don’t really need to stress yourself a lot yunno. I’m working hard to raise up the money” Sarah said.
“I have to help you too” Catalina retorted.
“You’re so stubborn. Come let’s go eat” She said and led the way..

Catalina looked herself on the mirror and smiled. She may not come from a rich background but one thing she’s proud of is her cute face
She finished dressing up and left for her job. Her mother isn’t yet back from her nightly jobs and Calvin left early to study, looks like he’s really determined to pass it at all cost.
She boarded the cab which took her to Reynolds Empire and she wasted no time in boarding the elevator to the CEO’s office.
Upon arriving there, she was shocked to meet a long line of females, waiting for their turn to be interviewed.
INSIDE THE OFFICE**
“Kindly leave please… We’re looking for someone with 20 years of experience” Frederick said after he finished interviewing the lady in front of him.
“20 years of experience?! But I’m 23! Was I supposed to gain the experience in my mother’s womb!?” The lady flared up
Frederick passed her a cold look.
“Security!” He called and two bodyguards walked in then dragged her away.
The next who entered was wearing a short gown with excessive makeup on her face.
“Does my company look like a masquerade party to you? Out!” He said immediately and the lady left without being interviewed.
Another one entered and tripped on nothing due to the intense and cold look he was passing at her.
“Why did you trip? Are you going blind… We don’t need visually impaired people in my company, you can mistakenly give all my company’s shares to my rivals.. Find you way out,,, that is if you can see your way out” Frederick said and the lady left too, slightly embarrassed.
They kept coming in and going out after receiving their own share of criticism and insult till it got to Catalina’s turn.
She heaved a deep breath and walked in boldly. Frederick looked at her with a poker face as she walked and stopped two feet away from him.
“Good morning sir” She greeted.
Frederick looked at her from head to toe, wondering how can a sane human being leave her house dressed like in Jesus’s era. Nevertheless, it was decent so he said nothing.
Catalina placed her CV on the table. He took it and opened it then went through it. His brows furrowed when he read two things;
She was androphobic and that she once worked in Roman’s company. He was more interested in the latter though.
“So you once worked in R-R Investment” Frederick flipping through her CV
Catalina nodded..
“I was once the CEO’s secretary but I resigned due to personal reasons” Catalina said.
“From your credentials, I see nothing special in it.. I don’t see a reason for me to hire you” Frederick closed the CV and pushed it towards her.
“Find your way out”
Catalina smirked and placed another paper on the table.
“I’ll advice you read through it and then you can decide whether I leave or not” Catalina said.
Frederick looked at the paper then at her. He slowly picked it and read through it. His brows slightly raised..
“This-”
“That’s the formula for the latest brand R-R Investment released… You must now be wondering on why I have it, it’s simply because I was the one who composed it and he stole it from me… I’m the secret behind that company’s success.” Catalina said.
“That’s not just all… There’s a lot of such formula which I haven’t yet written down and if you hire me, it’ll be like a double benefit for you.. You get a secretary and also the formulas.” Catalina said confidently.
“Now, before you hire me… I have my rules. First, you stay 2 feets away from me… Secondly, we’re strictly professional and nothing else and thirdly, I have a nasty temper and if you do too I’ll advice you keep your temper away from mine coz I reply anger with anger” Catalina said.
“Deal or no deal?”
Frederick looked at her with a slightly surprised look on his face. Who does she think she is to give him rules and order to follow? Never has a woman spoke to him that way
But on the other hand there’s the formulas… His company can really grow with that.
Frederick pressed a button and a man immediately walked in.
“Dismiss all the other applicants” He said and the man nodded then left.
“You’ll be working from 7am till 8pm, everyday except on weekends.. I hate laziness and slack off and also lateness. Each time you come late, 10% will be deducted from your salary. I want to see my office clean and my coffee well made each time I arrive here” Frederick said and faced his laptop.
Catalina smiled.
