However, all of this is false, since the renowned Mexican journalist is in good health and above all alive, as seen in his Instagram stories, where he has surprised with the news of his farewell.
Bermúdez took to social media to say goodbye to Televisa, thus ending his 47-year career at the San Ángel company .
” 1977 was a very special year… beginning my long journey at Televisa, a company that I have always carried in my chest and today I keep in my heart. I want to thank my bosses, colleagues and you, the viewers and listeners, who have always encouraged me ,” he wrote in X.
” Wearing these colours was something wonderful and I will never forget it…we are muleteers and we walk the road, long live the intensity of football. We continue to see each other ,” he concluded.
This proves that the former narrator of the well-known game FIFA did not die and is, on the contrary, in good health. In short, the rumor originated when he announced his departure from the media outlet where he worked for many years.
Enrique Bermúdez de la Serna was born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, on August 29, 1950. He worked as a narrator and sports commentator on TUDN, its predecessor Televisa, and on the Univisión network.
In 1976 he started as a football commentator and later became the star commentator. He covered a total of 12 World Cups, starting with Argentina 1978 and ending with Qatar 2022, which he himself confirmed was his last.
He also participated in eight European Cups, eight Copa Américas, six Olympic Games and was the official voice of the popular FIFA game in the Latin American version, narrating from 2006 to 2012.
At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he was recognized by FIFA and AIPS at the event ‘Journalists on the podium of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He received the recognition from Ronaldo Nazario and together with Fernando Schwartz they are among the first Mexican journalists to receive the distinction.
