DSS Arrests CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele After Suspension.
Emerging reports indicate that the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has allegedly been arrested by the Operatives of the Department of the State Services (DSS).
Reports by TVC and PM News stated that the CBN chief was arrested following his suspension.
It was reported that Emefiele was suspended by President Bola Tinubu from office on Friday, June 9, with immediate effect to pave the way for the continuation and conclusion of the official investigation into his activities as governor of the nationâs apex bank.
President Tinubu Bans Binance Operation In Nigeria.
A restriction on Binance Nigeria Limitedâs operations has been harshly criticised by the government, which is led by President Bola Tinubu.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (the Commission) issued a circular in which it announced the ban.
The Commission declared that because Binance Nigeria Limited is neither registered or subject to regulation, its operations in Nigeria are unlawful.
The circular reads: âThe attention of the Securities and Exchange Commission (the Commission) has been drawn to the website operated by Binance Nigeria Limited, soliciting the Nigerian public to trade crypto assets on its various web and mobile-enabled platforms.
âBinance Nigeria Limited is neither registered nor regulated by the Commission and its operations in Nigeria are therefore illegal. Any member of the investing public dealing with the entity is doing so at his/her own risk.
âAs the regulator with the statutory mandate of investor protection, the Commission urges Nigerians to be wary of investing in crypto-assets, and crypto-asset related financial products and services if the service provider/its platform is not registered or regulated by the Commission. Nigerian investors are hereby warned that investing in crypto-assets is extremely risky and may result in total loss of their investment.
âBy this circular, Binance Nigeria Limited is hereby directed to immediately stop soliciting Nigerian investors in any form whatsoever.
âThe Commission shall provide updates on further regulatory actions with respect to the activities of Binance Nigeria Limited, and other similar platforms and shall work with other regulators in Nigeria to provide further guidance on this matter.â

The heartbreaking news was initially revealed by music executive Ovie on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
As of now, the cause of Mohbadâs untimely death remains unclear, leaving fans and fellow artists in a state of mourning and disbelief.

Renowned Nigerian pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman has offered succour to a widow and her children to start their life all over after dramatic events turned them helpless.
In a show of compassion and selflessness, the woman and her children who wouldnât stop crying had caught the attention of the cleric.
The late husband had a pending divorce case with the woman and just before his death came into the house and removed every property, leaving the woman with nothing to take care of their six children.Â
Crying profusely along with her children during a church service at the pastorâs Auchi based worshipercentrer in a video posted online, the woman said a simple misunderstanding had led the husband to file for divorce.
But while the case was still ongoing, the man came and emptied the house, leaving her and her children.
âDo not kneel down,â the Apostle had instructed as the woman attempted to go on her knees weeping profusely.
Seeing that the woman was not ready to stop crying, the cleric asked the first daughter to narrate the situation.Â
The daughter equally started crying as she stated that things had gone south for her mother and the rest of her siblings after the father moved away from the house with everything they had, only to die shortly after.
âWhen you have an issue with your wife try to settle it without letting it affect your children,â Suleman told his congregation before asking the woman if she has any skill.
âI can cook. I am a chef,â the woman replied before the cleric offered a business capital of N3 million.
The touching gesture, which has been widely praised on social media, is a reminder of the Christian principle of helping those in need and extending a helping hand to the less fortunate.
