“What did heck are you saying? How on earth did you know her?” Rebecca asked, while Debra look at Jane hatefully. Just looking at Jane, one could tell she was blind because of the way she was staring into space.

“You can’t make decisions for me mom. Didn’t I tell you about my breakup with Debra? She was the one who chose to break up with me. It hurt when she did, but now I have overcome it, and I don’t have anything to do with her anymore!” Adrian said, looking at Debra hatefully.

“You and Debra are perfect match, so stop making a scene!!!” Rebecca shouted at Adrian.

“You were the one who started the scene mom. The party was going well, and you decided to ruin everything by announcing a stupid engagement that I didn’t sign up for” Adrian said.

Cameras were all over Rebecca’s face, and she felt embarrassed. Lucas drank the entire wine in the glass cup before leaving the hall to go after Adrian and Jane.

Adrian was still walking fastly, and at the same time, he was still holding Jane’s hand. She was trying to keep up with his feet, and it was difficult for her because she was blind.

“Adrian!” She said, and Adrian quickly turned to look at her, halting his feet.

“You are walking so fast, I can’t keep up with you” Jane said, and Adrian looked at her for a while, before hugging her tightly.

“What’s wrong Adrian?” Jane asked, trying to push him away, but Adrian hugged her tightly.

“Let me hug you for a while, please” Adrian said softly, hugging her tightly. Jane kept calm, and after a few seconds, she slowly raised her hands and hugged Adrian back.

Lucas was still walking around the street looking for Adrian and Jane, when he saw them hugging each other in the middle of the road. He smiled before walking up to them, clearing his throat on purpose.

Adrian broke the hug, and Jane stared into space. “Lucas is that you?” Jane asked.

“Yes it’s me” Lucas said and looked at Adrian.

“Do you like my bestie that much to announce it to your mom. Does it mean both of you fell for each other at first sight?” Lucas asked smiling.

“Lucas!” Jane called his name.

“Ah, Jane can’t see. So Adrian’s case is Love at first sight, while Jane’s case is Love at no sight” Lucas said, laughing.

Lucas has a smile on his face as he patiently waited for Mr. Brook. He has written an exam so he could enter the college after his highschool exams. Mr. Brook has called him earlier, because he said he needed to talk to him.

“Lucas Tilley” Mr. Brook said, entering the office. He is the founder of the college. Lucas stood up to his feet when he entered.

“Good evening, Mr. Brook” He greeted respectfully.

“Evening Lucas. Have a seat” He said, and Lucas sat down smiling.

“How’s school?” He asked.

“School is fine Mr. Brook. In two months time I’d be through with highschool, and then I can start my college study here, since I passed the scholarship exam gracefully” Lucas said, smiling.

“That’s why I ask you to come here Lucas. Sorry Lucas Tilley, but I won’t be able to admit you to my school” Mr. Brook said, and the smile on his face disappeared.

“What do you mean Mr. Brook”

“As you know, my college only admit fifty students very session, and a man wants his son to be admitted this year, so I am choosing him instead of you to accumulate the fifty students for every session”

“But I passed the scholarship exam. I was the best in the exam”

“Yeah I know. I crossed check about the students of this session, and you were the only one who passed the scholarship exam, and also the only one who came from a poor family”

“I don’t understand, Mr. Brook” Lucas said.

“What I am trying to say is that, you are not fit to be a student of this school. This man we are talking about here is ready to pay millions of dollars just so his son can be in my school, and I can’t trade it for a poverty smelling person like you” Mr. Brook said, and Lucas felt so heartbroken.

“I work so hard for this exam Mr. Brook. I had sleepless night just so I can be able to pass the exam, and now that I did, you are depriving me the chance of being a student here because of money?” Lucas asked, as tears fells down from his eyes.

“Then become rich so you can be worthy of being a student in my school. I’m done talking to you Lucas Tilley, so leave my office” Mr. Brook said.

Lucas glared at Mr. Brook heartbreakingly before leaving the office.

Lucas couldn’t hold back his tears as he walked around the premises of the school. Being a teenager, he was unable to control his tears. He really work so hard just so he could be in this college, and all his efforts went down the drain because of being poor.

Lucas was still crying, when he saw some group of students in their lab coat, walking towards the laboratory department.

*Really?” His mom asked, smiling.

*Yes mom, and when I finally become a successful surgeon, I will give you and Grace a good life” Lucas said, hugging his mom, and his mom caressed his hair.

Then I can’t wait for you to become a student in that college, so that I can announce to the whole world that my son is student surgeon His mom said, and Lucas laughed.

Reminiscing about his conversation with his mom, Lucas fell to the ground. He’d hope to become a college surgeon this year, but it will never happen because scholarship exams in Dashie only comes once in a blue moon. Dashie was a town meant mainly for the rich.

“Argggggh!!!” Lucas screamed heartbreakingly, as he cried.
