ππ ππππ has been so boring since I decided to run from everything and just stay alone. Initially I planned to stay with Dove, just the both of us in this peaceful and quiet place together. I have long decided that I won’t put my happiness aside for others.
Dove makes me really happy but because of my selfless attitude I kept pushing her till she finally rejected me. The moment I heard her say no the day I asked her to leave with me, my heart dropped. I stood there, watching her path from me, hoping she’d turn around, hug me and tell me to take her with her but my thoughts didn’t happen and then I knew I’ve lost her.
Part of me believes she’d come around, I can’t count the amount of times I’ve fled from the couch when I hear a knock on the door, hoping it’s her, I know she still has my address with her but it’s either the mail man or delivery man or neighbors that always want to borrow something.
I woke up from sleep today in my big hoodie covering my head. I ordered noddles and it should arrive any minute from now, I’ve feeling so bored and tired of everything.
ππͺπ―π¨ π₯π°π―π¨.
That’s my doorbell, the noddle guy, I rolled my eyes and sluggishly dragged my feet towards the door and dragged it open. My heart jumped with the site in front of me. Brown hair, round cute face, innocent cute eyes and those tiny lips. Is she more prettier now?
My body is stops dead, unable to move, unable to blink and before I could ask what she is doing here, her body flew to my arms, her shoulders shaking.
“Dove..” I’m confused on why she came here with her luggage in tears but the first thing on my mind is to take care of her. I don’t want to see her cry again, ever.
I took her luggage from her and kicked the door closed before assisting her to the couch. She didn’t let go of me nor stopped crying, I only rubbed her shoulders waiting for her to sober up.
After some minutes her shoulders stopped moving, she looked up at me with those pitiful big red eyes. I don’t like the sight of Dove crying in my arms, I should be protecting her goddamnit!
“Are you fine now? Do you need water?” I ask softly and she nod.
I let her go and went to the kitchen. As I was filling water in a glass cup I kept thinking of possible reasons why Dove would come here crying, is it because she finally learns of the truth? If yes then she’s not supposed to be here, she’s supposed to hate me for keeping it from her.
I took the filled up glass and moved towards her. “Here you go” I handed it over to her and she began drinking.
I clear my throat. “I thought you were not coming, may I ask what changed your mind?” I ask but didn’t get any reply from her, she just kept the cup in her mouth without moving.
“What did you see?” I ask again but this time, she replied my question with another question.
“Is that why you kept pushing me away?”
“Huh?” I’m a bit lost in what she’s trying to do but I know where my thoughts kept going to what could be possible. I’ve always know she won’t be able to handle it when she finds out.
“Our moms are an item Derek, I heard you were the first person to know” She said.
Bam! I guessed she must have found out now my mind drifted to what happened four years ago.
I was sixteen years then, I just finished doing my homework, like the good and responsible guy everyone wants me to be. I went to Mom’s room, about to knock but paused when I heard strange noises.
Two women moaning, I don’t need an extra ear to figure the voices out but I needed to be sure to see who. I opened the door and I saw what I’ve been denying to myself. I’m not that surprised because I’ve seen the way mom looks at Aunt Lauren, just the way Dad looks at mom when he was still alive.
“Derek” the both sat me down, ready to explain.
“We trust that you’re older and will take this news more better than Dove and Taylor” Mom told me and that was her large mistake to think I’m older all the damn time and ready to handle everything.
I couldn’t handle this one not when I was starting to pick interest in a 12 year old girl who’s likely to become my sister because of our moms.
This news was the starting of my downfall, it ended the way I think, it made me realize somethings about myself which I hated up till now and it changed me to who I am today and my greatest fear is Dove finding out.
I don’t want her to be forever traumatized.
