Early this Monday morning, the death of André Marín, a renowned Mexican journalist, was reported. Read his biography here:
His co-worker, David Faitelson, confirmed the death of André Marín this Monday, September 16, at the age of 52; this after suffering several health complications.
Prior to the 2020 pandemic, Marín was infected with a bacteria called Clostridium Difficile , which causes diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss and fever, and also caused the deterioration of virtually all lung tissue.
However, the journalist’s condition remained critical and he remained in hospital. His co-workers reported that his death was related to complications in his recovery after the surgery he had undergone weeks ago.
” On behalf of Televisa Univision, we express our deepest condolences for the death of our dear colleague and close friend André Marín, an outstanding sports journalist ,” said the media outlet where he worked.
Who was André Marín?
André Marín knew from a very young age that he wanted to dedicate himself to the media; at the age of 14 he became a production assistant and in 1988 he joined TV Azteca under the command of José Ramón Fernández.
At that television station he was part of the great team made up of David Faitelson, Francisco Javier Aguirre, Christian Martinoli, Rafael Puente, among others. At TV Azteca he was a reporter for the Mexican National Team and covered the Olympic Games and World Cups.
Despite having lived through great experiences, in 2023 he joined TUDN. He was part of sports broadcasts, while he was a participant in ‘Tercer Grado Deportivo’ and ‘Línea de 4’.
His last television appearance was on July 18, as he suffered a health relapse that led him to have to receive a double lung transplant.
