Two doctors are already in the ward with more nurses, all busy with checking Levi’s consciousness status.

Nurse Layla couldn’t hide her excitement, her face might just tear off if she smiles wider than she’s doing right now, and then there’s another thing…

Her heart is racing.

She has been seeing Levi every single day for months, and even in his unconscious state, there’s no denying to his hotness, but now that he’s awake, she got a proper view of his face.

His facial expressions are madly attractive, especially the way his thick brows move anytime he frowns.

She couldn’t stop biting her lip, trying to control the rhythm of her heart.

His friends are by the other side, watching the doctors with keen interest.

The bandage was unwrapped from Levi’s head since the head wound is completely healed, though it left an obvious scar beside his ear.

“Are you telling me I got shot in the fuçking head and was in coma for five months? It sounds as impossible as it looks. I’m not the type to get defeated” Levi said, the frown still intact on his face.

“Just how much damage did his memories experience?” Hyce muttered.

“What’s the last thing you remember?” The head doctor asked after checking his eyes.

“I don’t remember any fuçking thing and it’s the most annoying part. What the fûck happened?” He replied, looking pissed.

“You remember getting into college three years ago, right?” Conrad asked.

“Yeah” Levi replied calmly.

“And then… The freshers night party? That’s where you met Conrad, Rebekah and me… remember? We became friends that night” Hyce said.

“Yeah… Chadwick was being a jerk at the party and I hated him at first sight. What the hell is he doing here?” Levi replied.

“Oh shit…not that memory” Chadwick said, looking away from him.

“That’s not important right now, so what happened after the party?” The doctor asked.

“The next day after the party, Xavier called me to his office to give me a job. I refused, but he said if i do it, he’d give me my mother’s grave location. I agreed” Levi replied.

“What job did he give you?” Hyce asked quickly, and Levi’s eyes went clouded as he gritted his jaws, trying to remember.

His head made a loud noise, and blood came out of his nose in drops.

He grabbed his head with his right hand.

“Oh no!” Nurse Layla quickly took some tissue and wiped the blood.

“Levi!” Uncle Reginald rushed in with Kara, and she threw her bag down before hugging him tight in bed, shedding tears of joy.

“I’m not dead, stop the tears” Levi said, and she nodded on his shoulder.

“I’m glad you’re back”

“How are you feeling?” Uncle Reginald asked with a large smile.

“Crazy, I dunno what the hell happened to me and I was told i graduated college already? I’m going fuçking mad here” Levi replied.

“You’ll get used to it, and you’ll hear the rest of the story later. For now, just rest” Uncle Reginald said, understanding immediately.

“Nurse Layla, please stay and attend to him. Everyone else, please follow” the head doctor said, leaving the ward

Uncle Reginald followed him with the rest of them, and they went to his office.

“Did his memories go back in time or what? He only remembers things from three years ago” Hyce said.

“Something like that, but the sole purpose of that is to forget about that one person” the doctor replied.

“I know. The job he was given by Xavier is to be Emory’s shadow and protect her” Conrad said.

“Now she’s out of his memories? Meaning he forgot Fred and everything related to Emory too?” Kara asked.

“Even better” Conrad said.

“I second that” Uncle Reginald added.

“But it won’t take long. His brain only needs time to prepare, and the memories will come back” the doctor said.

“Thank you, doctor. I can’t imagine him waking up and remembering her then we telling him she’s dead.” Kara said .

“That’s disaster… She’s literally his life, and that’d kill him. If possible, may his memories of her never return, I can’t lose him” uncle Reginald said.

“So what’s the next step?” Chadwick finally talked.

“Create new memories with him” the doctor replied.

BACK IN THE WARD*

Levi’s eyes are closed as nurse Layla wiped his face with a wet towel to keep it moist for the meantime.

The other nurses behind her are busy wowing over him and whispering things to each other, unable to take their eyes off him.

It’s the first time they were allowed in here.

“Keep it down, the noise” nurse Layla suddenly said, and their whispers went down as Layla dropped the towel.

“How did you know everything I do tell you before reading stories for you?” She suddenly asked, and Levi opened his eyes slowly.

“No idea, I just know them” he said simply.

She couldn’t even look him in the eyes as she talked…

“I guess your subconscious connected with me after all, I’m glad to have you back” she said.

“You saved me?” He asked.

“Yeah, though Chadwick had to threaten me with a gun” she replied.

“Chadwick threatened you to save me? Darn, i forgot a lot of shit” he replied, moving his head uncomfortably on the pillow.

“Are you uncomfortable?” She asked.

He removed the pillow, and she took it.

“I hate pillows” he said, sitting up.

“And I need a change of clothes…I hate hospital uniform” he said.

Layla was about to reply when Rebekah came in.

“Fûck!!!! It’s true!!!” She screamed, rushing into his arms.

“I can’t breathe, Bekah” he replied, cringing, and she broke the hug.

“I’m so happy to have you back!” She gushed, hugging him again.

“It’s ok” nurse Layla pulled her away.

“Why?” Rebekah blinked.

“He needs to rest” Layla smiled, and Rebekah hugged her too.

“Thanks for your care. If it weren’t for you, he wouldn’t be awake this early” she said.

“My pleasure” Layla replied.

Rebekah rushed out afterwards, meeting the guys by the door.

“He didn’t lose his memories like as expected” she beamed.

“Wrong, all memory of Emory is gone” Hyce said, and Rebekah gasped.

GRAND CASINO, LATER THAT DAY*

Chadwick was ecstatic as he entered the building, literally jumping on his toes.

Hazzan met him at the end of the hall, and his smile broadened.

He literally rushed into his arms to hug him tight.

They’ve not met since his arrival yesterday, and that’s because Hazzan was on a mission for Master X.

“I missed you, father” he chuckled.

“Can’t believe you’re my son” Hazzan replied, and Chadwick laughed.

“Won’t Master X visit Levi? He’s awake already, though he lost all memories of Emory” he said.

“He did? It’s for the better. We all know he might run mad if he remembers her and finds out she’s dead” Hazzan replied.

“True, where’s Master X himself?” Chadwick asked.

“He has been madly busy, and Fred is at the tip of our fingers” Hazzan replied, leading him to the special force room.

There are twenty cyber geniuses there, working tirelessly on their systems in the circle.

Master X is in their middle, supervising.

“Oh…this is massive” Chadwick said.

“The cops are not achieving anything about Fred, so Master X himself took over since three months ago. He’s a brainiac who hides his tracks well, so it has not been easy to find him, but we’re sure making progress” Hazzan explained.

“We’re making progress too. I mean, I, Hyce and Conrad” Chadwick replied.

“Seriously?” Hazzan faced him.

“And that leaves us with the last option” Master X said.

“Silicone mask” another one said.

“Paste the deal in all social medias. The bounty is 5 billion. Anyone who made him the mask will come out” Master X said, walking out of the room.

Hazzan followed him immediately.

“Boss, Levi is awake” he told him.

“I know” Master X replied without stopping.

“Then you should go see him” Hazzan said.

“You think he’d be happy to see my face?” Master X finally faced him.

“Especially now that he only remembers things from three years ago. His version from three years ago hates me more, so he might just pull the trigger on me if I show him my face” he said.

Hazzan went silent as Master X left the corridor.

BRIGHT ORPHANAGE*

Nina exhaled as she came out of the taxi, looking tired.

The orphanage is a lot far from her house, so the journey is always tiring, and that’s why she rarely comes.

She got a message from Rebekah twenty minutes ago about Levi’s consciousness, and she’s planning to go see him after leaving this place.

She took a long look at the orphanage building again and smiled, feeling nostalgic.

This is where she was adopted from at the age of 5.

The kids are currently playing at the far back of the property, so it’s noisy when she entered the compound.

Old feelings surged in her underbelly. She could imagine her 5 years old self running around the cashew tree in front of the yard.

“Nina!” A familiar voice called out, and she looked ahead to see the orphanage owner…

She’s a tall woman with sharp features, holding a watering can in the middle of the orphanage garden.

“Ma’am!” Nina walked fast to her, and she dropped the can to come out to her

She gathered Nina in a warm hug.

“It’s been a while since you last visited” she said.

“I’ve been busy with school, but now that I’m through, I’ll visit more” Nina replied as they walked to sit under the cashew tree.

“Are the Young family still treating you well?” The woman asked.

Nina took a while before answering.

Anytime she asks that question, she always says yes, not because she’s ok with the maltreatment, but because it’s better than staying here and not going to school.

“I’m glad” the woman smiled.

“And… About my mother” Nina asked the important question.

“She’s not coming back, Nina. I told you this several times remember? You were just a year old when she dropped you here with a note that she gave birth to twins and won’t be able to take care of two babies. She has never showed up again since then” the woman replied.

“I get it” Nina replied sadly.

“Come here” the woman hugged her affectionately.

Meanwhile, Sabrina is hiding behind the kids swing chair, watching them with a satisfactory smile.

“You still visit the orphanage you were adopted from? Let’s see how my parents will react to this” she said, getting her phone to make a video.

EUROPE, FRED’S MANSION*

Rain is busy pushing everything in her way down, breaking the breakable and crushing the crushable, making the house a mess.

She has been behaving mad like this since she returned from Emory’s cell.

Omar and Romeo are standing speechlessly behind the rails, looking at her with their arms crossed.

“I should have known she’s a psycho” Romeo muttered.

“Fred should better come and tie his daughter down” Omar replied.

“Don’t you feel something is odd?” Romeo asked.

“What?” Omar faced him.

“Fred doesn’t treat her like his daughter, he treats her like his… toy? I mean… I’ve never seen them spend quality time together except when they’re plotting something, and have you seen the way he looks at her disgustingly at times?” Romeo said.

“You’re telling me she’s not his daughter?” Omar asked.

Fred came in downstairs before Romeo could reply, and his eyes reddened immediately he saw the mess around.

“Rain!!!!!!!!” He yelled, and Rain dropped the vase she was about to shatter.

“Dad” she mumbled as he walked fast to her.

“You think you’re being useful right now? I bought everything here with money! Money! My company is only just starting to grow so I have no cash to waste on home appliances right now, but you smashed it all?” He yelled, and Rain gulped.

“Emory said You’re infertile, meaning you’re not my father? Is it true?” She asked.

Omar and Romeo exchanged glances.

“And you believe her?” Fred held her shoulders.

“No, but…

“You’re my daughter, and thats final. She’ll say anything to get under your skin just like she lied that I raped her. Get back to your senses!” He snapped.

Rain swallowed. “I’m sorry for doubting you, dad”

Fred inhaled before letting her go. “Levi is awake” he broke the news

“What!” Romeo and Rain gasped.

“I thought you said you had plans to kill him at the hospital? He saw our faces remember? Levi will hunt us down and I’m sure we’ll be dead before tomorrow morning! He’ll kill us!!” Omar said fearfully.

“Shut up!!” Fred yelled, and Omar flinched back.

“He lost memories of Emory, meaning he lost memory of us too… I expected it, so we’re good” Fred assured, and Romeo inhaled

Omar did the same.

“It’s good news. This only means I can still try my luck… Maybe we’re really meant to be. I’m flying back to Terraverde tomorrow please!” Rain said happily.

“I’ll go back with you, I’m tired of this place” Romeo said.

“Me too” Omar added.

“I have my company to take care of here, I can’t come with y’all tomorrow but I’ll join soon” Fred said.

“But how are you getting information from the hospital?” Rain asked.

“I have spies everywhere” Fred smiled.

“This calls for celebration!” Rain gushed, rushing to the cellar to get them wine
