I got to Shegu’s house around 4:30Pm. My heart was still beating and my body was quivering seriously. “Yes? Who are you looking for?” He asked. His voice was loud and harsh.
‘Maybe you should just tell him sorry, then turn back and walk away’ A voice suggested in my head.

I nodded my head in affirmation and at the same time I wagged my head in disagreement. I was just scared and confused.

“Aren’t you the one Mr. Dami has been expecting?” He asked.

He didn’t even wait for me to answer yes or no, he quickly dragged me inside the compound and locked the gate.

I stood. I froze. I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me as I saw four other hefty men like him positioned at different angles of the compound.

“Jesus!… Jesus!.. Jesus!…” I started shouting in my mind. “… Please don’t forsake me.. Please don’t let this mission take my life”

“Mr. Dami is waiting for you in his room” He told me and gave me a little push to keep me going or perhaps to remind me that I ought to keep moving instead of standing like a tree as I was standing.

Fear gripped me more. My heart beating increased; my body quivered even more as if my legs were going to break and my body would fall out. “Ah Somadina and I didn’t plan to meet Mr Damilola at home. What do I do? God! If only Somadina would show up right now and tell me what to do.”

I kept walking to the mansion, towards the entrance door.
