πŸ₯· The Hunter Season One Episode Three:

    SEASON 1:

Ben resorted to crying to God for mercy as at that point, only mercy could bring him out of police custody and God in His infinite mercy sent help to Him. Ben was asleep in the cell that evening when an officer came to inform him that he has been bailed. Shocked, Ben pinched himself thrice to see if it was real. After being led out of the cell, Ben discovered that his only friend was the one that came to bail him out, how his friend got to know was something Ben didn’t understand.

Femi took Ben to his place, took care of his wounds, and then explained to him that Chinwe upon returning from the hospital contacted her lawyer who prepared the divorce papers. Done with that, she sent Ben’s copy to his friend and urged Femi to advise Ben to sign the papers if he wants to experience peace in his life.
Ben wiped the tears from his face and explained the issue to his friend who was surprised at the whole scenario.

Femi: But you guys were so much in love, my babe once told me she admire the love between you two, what went wrong?

Ben: I don’t know too oooo, she just changed overnight. She use to be so respectful and submissive, she practically worshipped the ground I walked upon and every day, I bless God for giving me such a wonderful and homely woman.

    Femi: hmmm, this is somehow

Ben: Will I blame the pregnancy? Does pregnancy make a woman go mad? Maybe, I never understood things that come with pregnancy

Femi: what are you going to do now? Will you sign the divorce papers?

    Ben: of course, I will.

Femi: like you are willing to throw away your marriage??

Ben: what am I to do? My wife got me arrested and filed for a divorce. I should be the angry one, how can a pregnant woman engage in a fight? See, her parent is wealthy and highly connected, if I am to fight them, I won’t win.

    Femi: this is so heartbreaking

Ben: Being their only daughter, they decided to please her when she insisted on getting married to me, it wasn’t as if they were in support of our relationship. I am an orphan, I have no one but God so, let me just go to the house, pick up my things and walk away after giving her the signed divorce papers. Her brother can decide to hire someone to kill me if I try to fight for this relationship. I can’t live in the house again because it was a wedding gift from her father.

Femi: it is well brother, I will not stop praying for you. Meanwhile, you can stay here as long as you want.

Ben: thank you for your help, I will rather ask my company for a transfer. I will be needing a relocation, I need to breathe fresh air.

    Femi: I will miss you

Ben: we will always be in touch. Don’t worry, I will come around for your wedding.

Femi: Ben, can’t we do something??

Ben: never mind, Femi. I will scale through.

Femi and Ben engaged in a brotherly embrace, Ben let out his tears while Femi pats his back. Femi knew Ben was so heartbroken, he had been in the couple’s lives so, he knew how much Ben loved his life.

The following day, Ben signed the papers and took them to the house to hand them to Chinwe. Surprisingly, he met a gateman who wouldn’t let him in claiming that the madam of the house warned him not to allow a man called Ben into the house, he asked to see Rita thinking she would explain things to him but the gateman said no one bears Rita in the house. Ben gave the gateman the letter before walking away. Right there, he was determined to move on, it was painful because he had always felt he would grow old with his wife now ex-wife.

Celine was going through the files on her table according to her boss’s order. Her boss had decided to treat all the application letters the company had received so far. For months, they had been receiving application letters but since they had no vacant position, the letters were dumped somewhere not until someone was fired from the office.

πŸ₯· The Hunter Season One Episode Two:

    SEASON 1:

When Rita came into their house, Chinwe felt she had found a friend and confidant. Rita was always helping the couple with one thing or the other considering Chinwe’s condition. Ben felt relieved as Rita was always there to help his wife. Ben was then beginning to see Rita’s coming as a blessing in disguise. Chinwe was also beginning to see that Rita’s coming into her home was a blessing to her at that moment as her first pregnancy was taking a toll on her.

Gradually, Rita took over the cooking in the couple’s home, she cooked, cleaned, and washed. The couple blesses God every day for the blessing of Rita but then something began to happen, Chinwe suddenly began to hate her husband.

At first, she thought it was the effect of the pregnancy on her, her husband who also felt the pregnancy was taking a toll on her understood and accepted all that she did to him but a last straw broke Carmel’s back.

Ben had just come back from work one evening and was greatly famished, he went into the bathroom to freshen up and await the arrival of a delicious meal when he received the shock of his life, his wife stood before him with a bowl of hot water with a threat to pour it on him. Ben was at first lost for words but later began to plead with his wife not to bath him with hot water but she was bent on carrying out her plan.

Ben stood up, pushed the water away from her, and then gave her a slap to reset her brain, that was his thought as he had had enough of her nonsense. He had seen many pregnant women who exhibited funny characters but none had tried to kill their husbands. Shocked that her husband could lay hands on her, Chinwe launched at her husband and engaged him in physical combat.

Ben could not understand what was happening, his wife was fighting him with a strength of a man. She pushed him to the ground and was hitting him with all her strength, Ben could see blood gushing out of his lips and nose. Knowing that if nothing was done on time, Chinwe would beat him to death, Ben gathered all his strength and pushed her away from him. Before they knew what was happening, Chinwe landed on the floor with her stomach hitting the bedroom table. It was a great fall and Chinwe began to bleed immediately.

Seeing what had happened, Ben carried his wife into the car and drove her to the nearest hospital. The first hospital seeing the level of damage done to the pregnancy referred the couple to another hospital. It was the third hospital that accepted them and by the time, Chinwe would be admitted, the baby had died inside the womb.

Chinwe was operated and the dead fetus was brought out of her. When Chinwe regained consciousness, she was enraged, she blamed her husband for killing her baby, she blamed him for choosing to kill her baby instead of enduring all she did to him. Ben chose to keep quiet because the death of his unborn baby got to him. Without thinking twice, Chinwe informed her parent who got her husband locked up in police custody without bothering to hear his side of the story.

Mrs. Amadi, Chinwe’s mother didn’t hesitate to have her son-in-law locked up as she had never been in support of their marriage. Her daughter was a very beautiful and intelligent young lady who had suitors coming for her from far and near but she chose to go for a man who was just struggling to survive with the claim that it was God’s will for her. Ohhh, Mrs. Amadi was so disappointed, she thought her daughter would go for her richest suitor but she went for the poorest of them all.

Mrs. Amadi wasted no time in making her daughter see reasons why marriage to Ben was a mistake, she advised her daughter to sue Ben in court, file for a divorce and get half of the little things he had.

Ben on the other hand felt he was dreaming, he was surprised Chinwe could get him arrested and even think of taking him to court when she was the architect of all that ever happened. He never had the intention of pushing her away, he only wanted to free himself from her grip so that she won’t end up killing him.

He was an orphan with no family members so, no one could come to bail him out of their custody. His parent died when he was six leaving him with his Uncle who managed to train him to secondary school level before dying in a plane crash. Life was hard for Ben as he suffered to see himself through school just to get to enjoy life.

She smiled sheepishly as she picked up ready to listen to whatever her sweetheart was ready to say.

    Chinwe: Hello, handsome!

    Ben: How are you, beautiful?

Chinwe: I am doing great and you?

Ben: How is my little Princess doing? Hope she is kicking.

Chinwe: You have come again oooo, who told you I am carrying a girl?

Ben: I know because I desire a baby girl who would be as beautiful as my Chinwe.

Chinwe: Come on, you sugar-coated man.

Ben: Lolz, So, I called for a reason.

Chinwe: Okay, I am all ears

Ben: Our Pastor called me this morning and said the church has a great need. I thought it was a financial need but he made me realize that a lady in the church needs shelter till she is able to get a job and secure her apartment.

Chinwe: So, how do we come in here?

Ben: Babe, he wants us to accommodate her till she gets a job and secures her apartment, I promised to discuss this with you and get back to him. What do you think?

Chinwe: Babe, I am afraid oooo, our agreement during courtship was never to bring a stranger into our home not even our family member. I don’t think this is a good idea, tell the pastor we can’t do it.

Ben: but he is a man of God and he would have seen if she would be dangerous. Moreover, he spoke well of her. Please, let’s not close the door of our house to a stranger.

    Chinwe: Hmmm, okay ooooo

Ben: can you help prepare the guest room?

    Chinwe: so fast?

Ben: Pastor said she is stranded and she needs the accommodation as soon as possible

Chinwe: They should give us time to process this jare, we are still trying to understand one another, bringing in a stranger will look somehow.

Ben: I understand you sweet but we don’t know who we will render help to and our desired financial help will come.

Chinwe: hmmm, alright oooo. I will see what I can do.

Ben: thanks my love, I love your understanding spirit. Don’t worry, I will get you enough suya while coming home this evening.

    Chinwe: Okay oo

Rita was deeply happy when the Pastor informed her that a newlywed had accepted to accommodate her, she appreciated the Pastor and promised to be of good behavior and never disappoint him.
