Faith had ordered a bottle of Fanta,as she sipped slowly while going through her phone.Five minutes later Fayez arrived,the sound made by the engine of the black Isuzu Hilux could be heard and most people had shifted their gaze to see who was here.

Faith saw Fayez walking out of the car,her stomach started groaning and she could feel butterflies in her stomach as he walked to where she was seated.She felt nervous meeting Fayez again.

The man hugged her and then helped himself to the seat of the round table.The people who were in the hotel kept staring at him and Faith but they ignored.He smiled at her and then broke the pin drop silence between them.

“ You look beautiful today, that dress fits you very well”

“ Thank you,so what’s up” she said smiling back at him.

“ Well,let us have much time and fun together since we are free from our families” he then kept silence for a moment, looking back and called the waiter.

The lady who was dressed in a black material trouser,white shirt and a black bowtie had walked towards them.She was beautiful with her blow dried hair.

“ Yes sir! How may I help you”

“ Bring two plates of jollof rice,fried chicken and a bottle of champagne”

The waiter had left the two talking.Fayez held Faith’s hands as he smiled at her beautiful face.

The waiter had come back some few minutes after holding a metallic tray that had the food and two glasses,the bottle of champagne was in her hands.They both enjoyed the food talking then Fayez went to pay the bill at the counter and they drove off.

“ No why have you asked?”

“ I don’t drink but I can give it a try” she said as they branched and got into West drinking parlor.

Faith was amazed by the disco lights and the dj who was playing songs in the bar.Women who were dressed for clubbing were dancing,the situation in the club was just amazing for her.Fayez ordered for two bottle of whiskey and they started drinking.

After they had taken the breakfast she had worn her blue trouser jeans a white top and a rubber shoes as she took her luggages out of the house one by one.The father was still cross checking the engine of his Toyota Corolla.He was dressed in a black suit,a white shirt without a tie and a brown timberland just like he always did.

The brother helped the sister to carry her suitcase and the foodstuffs that the mother had managed to pack for her in the grey hotpots.

Faith facial expression explained everything,she was sad,she wanted to stay a little bit longer with her family but however the holidays was over,she hugged the mother then hugged his brother and bid them goodbye in local Kalenjin language.

The father was in the car waiting for her to say her final goodbyes before she boarded the old Toyota Corolla and they left the compound.She saw her neighborhood friends and waved at them as the father sped the car and within some few minutes they were in the main road.

Fayez was busy walking in the corridors of the hospital when a nurse came running towards him.

“ Doctor Fayez,there is a very critical condition in the maternity ward”

“ what happened Nurse?”

“ There is a woman who needs to undergo operation now or else she will lose her baby” Fayez who was dressed in a white lab coat and had a stethoscope on his neck,had rushed to the maternity ward to check what was going on.

It was on a Monday morning and work had started on a very serious note.He had checked on the woman’s heart beat rate using the stethoscope and finally checked her pressure,he then ordered some operation tools to be transferred to him as fast as possible and he started the operation with the help of the nurses who were around.

At around twelve when they were almost finishing with the operation so was Faith and his father arriving in town,they drove and parked their car at the gas filling station that was besides the Naivas Supermarket then went and did some shopping and left to where Faith resided.The fair man had then left her and travelled back home.Homesick strike her but she arranged her house and everything then she decided to call Fayez.

Fayez was done with the operation and was walking back to his office when his phone rang.

“ Hello babe,how are you?” he had just spoke after receiving the call.“ Am fine just a little headache but I guess I will be fine” she replied and then went silent for some minutes.“ Have you travelled?” the man had then decided to break the silence,“ Yeah am in the house,I was hoping you could give me company later”

“ okay don’t worry I will pick you later in the evening after work,am currently busy” he said as he ended the call and sat on the chair of his office, rotating himself while he checked on the file of the patient that had been submitted by a nurse.

After seven attempted calls,she finally received the call.Victor could not hide his anger at what the girlfriend was doing to him.She just kept quiet,pretending to weep while shedding tears asking for forgiveness that she was busy.The two had talked for some time after he had forgiven her.

After they ended the call,she quickly went to her gallery and stared at the picture that Fayez had sent her.The filters had made him look more handsome.She stared at his clean unshaved beards as she smiled, slowly by slowly she was falling for someone’s husband and distancing herself from Victor.

‘Can you send me your son’s picture?’ she had asked him.

Without hesitation the man had sent the picture of him holding a son of roughly two years on his arms.The boy was fair just like his father,they resembled.Their skin was like that of a mixed race but much darker.

She was now very happy,she zoomed the picture of Fayez and started kissing it.She couldn’t tell why she was doing that but for the few days they had met,she felt complete.The gap in her heart was filled,she jumped on the tiled floor and yelled at a lower voice so that her mother could not hear her.

After she was done with lunch She took the plate outside where her mother was busy washing the dishes. She couldn’t hide the joy in her and even though she wanted to hide,her gestures still betrayed her and the mother saw how happy she was.

“ Cheru,you look happy today whom did you meet in the church?”

“ No one ma, am just feeling happy.Mama you make me happy,you are the best mum in the world” she said as she walked away.

“ Thank you my daughter” the mother had shouted to make sure she heard her.

She lay facing the ceiling and started laughing not that she had seen something funny,NO.The thought of Fayez made her smile that she found herself laughing,for the first time she wasn’t thinking about Victor.

Her phone notification dinged.She switched the phone and realized that Fayez had sent her 15K on Mpesa.She threw the phone on the bed and started dancing.She then received another message,she was curious so she switched on the phone faster and read the message sent by Fayez.

She was done with the mopping went up and took a bath,dressed well then walked out.I was ready,so I had carried my son to the car as she remained behind for some minutes cross checking herself in the mirror,then she locked the door and ran to the car,after some small discussion with Hakim,I had walked to the car, started the engine and we left.

Some few kilometers from Mboko town we could hear the loud public address systems which signalled that the church service had already started,we drove to Mboko ACK church and walked in.Some people were still getting in.The sounds of the sweet voices from the choir could be heard.

The big church was almost full when we entered.The wooden benches were already full.We took the plastic chairs that had been arranged behind and went to sit where there was still space.Belcy was busy enjoying the songs by the youth choir.The church is very big that I could not see in front clearly so I just watched through the big screen that was in the wall.

I was busy staring when some people had carried the plastic chairs and moved towards where we were.I had shifted my gaze and to my amazement I saw Faith grabbed a chair and moved to where I was seated with my family.The moment I just saw her,I felt nervous and bothered.

She just sat besides my wife,greeted her and we greeted as if we didn’t know each other and everyone remained silent as we focused on the activities that was going in the church.I was bothered that I couldn’t concentrate during the remaining part of the service,I was busy throwing a glance to make sure she wasn’t speaking to my wife and maybe cause trouble.Luckily she had said nothing until the service was over.

The preacher that day Rev John who was aged and his black hair had turned to silver had preached about loving one another,he had taken the preaching to married couples who were being dishonest and cheat on one another and finally divorce yet they were supposed to stay together until death as they proclaimed,the deeper he went so did I feel he was attacking me directly but I kept calm like I was innocent.

After the church service as people were busy walking out,Faith had stopped me.Belcy and Bob were already in the car and they were waiting for me so that we could leave.The way Faith was looking at me,I just felt like kissing her that moment but since we were in church full of people we just talked then I had left her in and got into my car and we drove off.

Victor was also around.He was busy looking for Faith outside when Faith saw him and went out to meet.They talked and they left the church grounds as they treked talking and laughing together.Victor admired Faith how she was dressed that day.

The boy had hold Faith on her shoulders as they both smiled at each other.The two were just better together and even people knew that.They had branched into the engineer’s compound,nobody was around since they were still in the church.He served her with a glass of juice.

Victor had then escorted her outside before the parents were back.He had stopped a bodaboda man and she had boarded the motorcycle and Victor paid,he stood watching her leave until the motorcycle wasn’t visible anymore.

Faith didn’t hesitate,she chose fashionable dresses and shoes that fitted her very well.I stood at a corner as I checked through trying to see if I could get the size of the shoes that would fit me.She was done, immediately I gave the owner of the shop my ATM card,she processed everything and the payment was done and we left.

Time had now gone and she was in a hurry to go back home.She had left home without informing anybody and her mother had been trying to reach her but she wasn’t reachable.We drove back to Matu center Parked the car on the side of the road for some few minutes as we continued talking.I had pulled her closer to me and immediately we started kissing,before she opened the door as she wanted to leave.

“ Sweetheart wait”

“ Is something wrong” she said as she turned around to look at me.

“ No nothing is wrong,I just wanted to give you this money for your upkeep” I had said as I counted ten thousand from my wallet and gave it to her.

She peeped but she couldn’t see anyone except her brother’s and cousins who were playing ball outside their small compound with their polythene wrapped ball.She tried peeping through to the kitchen and realized that it had been locked,only blue smoke could be seen emanating from the chimney,the kitchen was only closed when her mother wasn’t around.She slowly opened the gate and tiptoed into the compound.

“ Cheru where were you? Mum has been searching for you the all day” her brother Ken had shouted as soon as he saw her.

“ I had gone to meet someone,is mum around?”

“Come on siz, who doesn’t know that you went to see that engineer boy Victor,I know he is your boyfriend, anyway as for mum she has gone to fetch some firewood”

“ You better shut your mouth Ken,Victor is not my boyfriend and I didn’t go to see him” she said as she walked into the house leaving the boys to continue with their game.

She then went straight to her room and locked the door then she wore the new clothes as she stared at the mirror smiling.

“ Victor is going to love how I will look with this one ooh” she had said after she had worn a white dress with a white heels that Fayez had bought for her.

She was still cross checking her back to see if it fitted well by drawing the shape of her figure when she heard the voice of her mother singing the local church hymns then shouted at the boys asking if Faith was back.

“ Yes mama,she is at the house” one of Faith brother’s had shouted back.Mama Cheru as how many people called her in the village had dropped the firewood and rushed into the house to meet her daughter,she heard the footsteps of her mother, trouble was looming.Her mother is a no nonsense woman,she quickly changed into her home clothes and hid the bag with the new clothes in her metallic box.

I had taken the black Tundra and started the engine then left.Actually I had lied about meeting my friend.I was going to meet Faith and probably get to know her better before we could start a relationship.

I took the Mukuru-Mboko highway to avoid the traffic jam in Mboko town,then branched at a murram road some few kilometers.The road that leads to Matu for those who have been there.

Faith was leaving with her parents in Matu village but she had promised to meet me in Matu center just two and a half kilometer away from the village.Since it was the first time for us to meet,I had parked the car outside Kips hardware as it was the tallest building in the center and she could easily spot me.

I stood waiting for almost ten minutes when I saw a young and very beautiful girl walking towards me.She had worn a white long heels and a blue mini dress that exposed her curvaceous figure very well,just the way that I liked.That is my test.

“ Hello Fayez” she had said as we hugged each other tightly like we knew each other.

The people at the center who were busy with their activities had stood to watch us.The way the men were looking at me proved that they had a real problem with me, maybe they had tried their luck to no avail.Anyway that is a story of another day.

Faith had gotten into the big machine after I had opened the door for her and we left.She wanted to learn how to drive since she had never driven before so I had let her seat on my thighs as I guided her.Immediately my body started reacting and I had found myself kissing her on the neck.What happened after we had parked the car,God only knows since we were the only ones in the car and the windows were tainted black, anyone from outside couldn’t see anything,maybe for the moaning.

We drove to Sarova hotel, which is the biggest hotel in Mboko town and I had blessed Faith with expensive food.I needed to make her happy so that she could be mine.For Long since I got married,I felt happier again not that I was never happy but the life of starting a relationship had made me remember how we had first met with Belcy.

We had met during the University Competition games.She was in U Of Nairobi while I was studying in JKUAT.She was just beautiful like Faith here.The way we had met was just like fate had put us together.

We had just bumped into one another as I opened the door to one of the University rooms in UON and she was getting out,that is how we first met,we greeted and talked for a few minutes then exchanged numbers and what followed was dates and finally marriage and it was the best feeling just as today which was like rewinding the memory.
