Chief has suddenly found himself liking Amaka. Not only that she is younger than Princess, she also has a way of capturing his mind and making him happy in a way he has never been before. They were starting to get along before the kidnapping incident happened. He had no intention to chase away Princess. What he wanted to do was to allow Amaka give birth and then conduct a DNA test on the baby to confirm if the pregnancy was really his.
But on the day they were kidnapped, Amaka had opened up to Chief Egbe when they were being driven to the kidnappers’ den. She told him all the truth about how she stole his male liquid fertilizer and used it to make herself pregnant.
“I did it to teach you a lesson. Please, if we don’t make it out alive from the kidnappers den, kindly forgive me. I never wanted to destroy your home. I only wanted to carry the child of a rich man. Chief Egbe was shocked by what Amaka had told him but he did not have the time to process the information properly because of the constant harassment from the kidnappers. But now that he had been released and he is back to his house, he now has time and the mental preparedness to think of the implications of what Amaka had said.
He knew clearly that Amaka was telling the truth. He remembers the uncountable times he had dropped love-making balloon in the dustbin in the hotel where he frequented with different women.
“She is probably telling the truth. Although, what she did was not right, but if I will become a father through that means, I truly don’t care. That means I will soon carry my own baby. My goodness! I can’t wait.” The Chief said. He was under a shade in the big compound, drinking wine and reflecting on the whole situation.
The chief suddenly remembered that Amaka was still in the kidnappers’ den and he instantly became worried again. It was barely 24 hours after he was released. He had offered to pay ransom for Amaka but the kidnappers declined.
“Amaka is certainly carrying my baby. I will fight with all the fibers in my body to bring her back home safely. I will give it everything I have got. Amaka will return home safely and deliver my baby. I will fight the kidnappers with all the resources available to me.” Chief Egbe said with anger in his voice. He placed the cup of wine on the table and went into the house to talk with Princess.
“I wanted to confess something to you.” The chief said to his wife Princess who was scrolling through TikTok with her phone. She was lying down on one of the beautiful sofas in the living room. Princess is not a fan of television. Any time she is stress mentally, TikTok is the place she goes to watch short videos and have fun. She has refused to betray her emotions since her husband returned from the kidnappers’ den. She refused to display any form of anger, but instead started showing concern for Chief’s and Amaka’s wellbeing. When Chief returned without Amaka, she lied to him that the situation broke her heart.
“What do you want to confess my darling?” Princess asked with deep concern in her voice and face. She sat up and sharpened her ears to listen to her husband who by then had sat beside her on the white sofa.
“Amaka told me how she got pregnant for me and I’m convinced she was telling the truth. She said she stole my male liquid fertilizer which she used to get herself pregnant. She told me this in the car when we were kidnapped. I strongly believe she said the truth because I remember taking women to the hotel where she worked. Please forgive me for cheating on you with other women.” Chief Egbe pleaded with his wife with teary eyes.
“Did I hear you say forgive you?” Princess asked tenderly.
“Yes my dear! It was a mistake to have cheated on you. But the most important thing right now is that the life of the baby is at stake because Amaka is still in the kidnappers’ den and we must find a way to rescue her for the sake of the baby. You know we are yet to have children and maybe God wants to bless us with a baby through her. Please forgive me and support me in my efforts to release her.” Chief Egbe said to Princess. He was kneeling down but Princess held him up respectfully.
“Please stand up my darling husband. Please, there is nothing to forgive. I know you love me dearly and what must have happened at the hotel was a mistake. I have forgiven you and I will join you to fight to rescue Amaka. I will personally take care of that baby when it is born. I agree with you that God has blessed us through her. I will fight with you and I will never abandon you.” Amaka said as she started weeping and shedding profuse tears. She hugged the chief passionately.
Princess went outside after she was done with chief. She brought out her phone and called Eleks.
“Call my husband right now and demand N15 million as ransom to release Amaka. Do it right now!” She said.
Of course, Chief Egbe paid the money but Amaka was not released. To make matters worse, Princess leaked all the information to the press. She leaked all the hotel videos to the press and it became public knowledge that her husband is a womanizer who dumped his male liquid fertilizer in the dustbin where a cleaner it to get pregnant. Chief’s reputation became badly damaged and his businesses started suffering terribly. All the investors in all his companies pulled out. Chief was crashing to the bottom gradually. His businesses stopped bringing in money and the cash in his bank accounts started to decline.
