Metro Boomin has saluted André 3000 for letting him borrow one of his “iconic” jumpsuits for his ongoing tour with Future.
The We Don’t Trust You duo took over Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on Tuesday night (September 3), and while they did not bring out any special guests, Metro did sport some classic threads.
Throughout the performance, the Boominati boss wore a black jumpsuit adorned with the question: “Which type of stereo are you?” which resembled the one André 3000 wore during OutKast‘s reunion tour in 2014.
Taking to social media after the show, Metro revealed that the jumpsuit was actually the same one worn by the “Ms. Jackson” legend.
Alongside pictures of him wearing the outfit, Metro wrote on Instagram: “Big thanks to the [goat emoji] @andre3000 for letting me hold 1 of his original and iconic tour jumpsuits.”
The producer also wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “I grew up watching wrestling and listening to Outkast.”
Aside from his array of hits with Future, Metro Boomin’s most notable actions during the We Trust You Tour have been his charitable donations.
Throughout the 27-date trek, Metro has been donating $20,000 to each city in support of single mothers.
Earlier this summer, the superproducer launched the Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes grant program, named after his late mother, promising $20,000 grants and concert tickets in each stop on the tour.
The first grant went to Essential Families, a non-profit organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, following Metro and Future’s opening show in late July.
Along with the financial donation, Essential Families allowed two mothers and their children to attend the concert for free.
Metro has long been an advocate for single mothers. Back in 2022, he partnered with the Steve & Marjorie Harvey foundation to kickstart an initiative celebrating single moms as the everyday heroes they are.
The 30-year-old’s Single Moms Are Superheroes initiative was introduced in Atlanta, where he treated 26 mothers and their children to a VIP experience at the Atlanta Falcons vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game.
Earlier this year, Metro donated $100,000 to five non-profit organizations in his hometown of St. Louis, with the money helping women overcome debt and cover expenses for childcare, rent and more.
