    He rushed out and managed to carry the unconscious guy into the car and drove off to the hospital for medical help.

    “Good day Doctor, please take care of this young man for me. I just hit on him as he was crossing the road carelessly..” Said Mr Bernard Eluard to the doctor as arrived..
    The took him and applied medical help immediately.

    Few hours later, i opened my eyes and saw a lady dressed in a white gown with a tray ditch of inflammatories… I moved my hand and I felt a slight pain allover my body, especially my back.. A drip was fixed to my left hand as I watched the last amount of water enters my body.. I realized that I was under the impression of hospital.

    “Please, ma’am why am I here”? I asked still laying down.
    “Calm down you will be fine in a while” The nurse replied.
    “Please answer my question, what brought me here?” I asked curiously.
    “Well, a man brought you here hours ago.. He said he knocked you down in the process of crossing the lane.” She said.

    Tears gathered up in my eyes but I sniff in trying to with held it but I couldn’t help it and let Them dripped down my cheek..

    I could manage to stop it and the door cracked opened behold an average old man came.
    “Please nurse, how is he now?” He asked walking straight to me.

    Then I realized he was the man that knocked me out.
    After much deliberation of plead I summoned Gregory.
    He offered to take me to his house. I refused at first but later gave in.

    He drove me gently to his house. While in the car I was in silent as different evil sailed in my thought.
    He tried asking me but I didn’t reply. He apologized thinking I was annoyed about what happened he did to me…
    We reached his house and entered the main building. It’s a nice sitting room.. He ushered me to seat as went and got me chilled drink…I accepted and sat back to heel.
    “Welcome dad!” A young lady of a young age rushed down from upstairs and embraced the man.

    “This is my one and only daughter ‘Marthina’ and here comes my wife. “Felicia” Meet them. He said and I greeted them with a hand check.
    I caught the lady with a fixed gesture on her eyes.
    Our hands was fixed together for while before I disengaged.
    He later narrated the whole event to them and I was very shy…

    “Sir, I think I’ve to go now” I said.

    Some ocean of tears formed in my eyes but I didn’t let Them dripped down.. I stylishly smiled at them and hide my impression.

    “You don’t need to cry things shall go well soon”she assured and moved closer to me on the edge of the bed. I tried to help my tears but they keep rushing down.

    “I don’t your pains but you have to stop else you will hurt yourself.” She said this Time pathing my back..
    She embraced me into her hands and I felt her warmth.
    She held like that for few minutes while I sobbed into her arm..
    I stopped my tears and wanted to seat right on my heel but she held my tight.

    “Please don’t be to fast to disengage from my grip. You’re such handsome dude I Will like you to be my friend, please don’t say no”she said and I became confused on what to say or do next because I suspected her earlier. The way smiled at the very time our eyes sent some sense into my head that she was up to something… I was still in thought when I felt her hands on my cheek and plotted a hot kiss on it.

    It was a Saturday, Angel has done her morning chores and went to see her favorite series on the television. Chidimma told her she was going to the distant market to get things for the week as usual since she normally don’t have time during the week because of work.

    Angel bid her goodbye and continued with the series that she was already engrössed in.

    Hours later Angel got fämished and remembered her mother. She checked her time, it was 4pm. Normally her mother leaves by 8am and comes back by 1pm . It’s already three hours late and she’s not yet back.

    She called her myriad number of times but her mum didn’t pick.

    Angel got worried, she waited till around 4:30pm, a call came into her phone. It was her mother she picked the call a bit relieved.

    Angel : Hello Mummy what happened you scared me!!

    Strânger: Hello !!

    Angel : Hello , Yes who is this? And why are you calling with my mum’s phone? Where is my mum?

    Stranger: We are afraid your mum was involved in a ghastly car accident. She is in a critical condition. Rush down to home care hospital.

    Angel hung up the phone and rushed down to the said hospital, wearing one slippers on one leg and another slippers on the other. She really hopes her mother is okay.

    Getting to the hospital, she was directed to where her mother was. Angel broke down in tears. The car caught fire with Chidimma inside, part of her body was bûrnt. She rushed to hold her mother who was still unconscious and the nurses drew her back in order not to contaminate Chidimma’s wôunds.

    Angel couldn’t hold back her tears, why will God allow her mother get involved in such an accident. How will she manage?

    The doctor called Angel and asked her if she has anyone capable of paying so that full treatment can start on Chidimma.

    But who does she know? Who will she run to?

    Just then she remembered her uncle Chidi who visits them once in a while. She dialed his number but it never went through. She called and called but the number was not reachable.

    Angel rushed back to the doctor with tears flowing down her cheeks.

    Please sir , start treating my mother, we will pay you later ,she is all I have. You can take me as your servant but please treat my mother Angel begged continuously now holding the doctor on his coat.

    He removed her hands and walked out.

    Angel ran out and started going to people her mother knew but everyone had an excuse not to be of help.

    She went into the streets bêgging anyone she sees along the road but no one gave her listening ears. The ones who wanted to help her insisted on sleeping with her first. But that was not what she bargained for.

    The world was really wicked Angel thought, why will men even those old enough to be her father want to have cârnäl knowledge of a little girl like her before being of help.?

    Angel ran back to go meet her mother, on getting there, she was being covered with a white cloth.
    Why are you covering my mother Angel asked the nurse.

    Sometimes I would think why did God made me this way, maybe he has his reasons. I stoop up and went to prepare dinner for myself. I live alone in a self-contained apartment. My school is far from home so my parents don’t want me going and coming so they rented it for me.

    When I was done making dinner for myself I checked the time and it was 7:30pm. “I have to eat now.” I said out loud. I ate my plate of jollof rice and egg and supported it with a cup of water. I took the plates to the kitchen and washed them. I went into my room and took my phone. Let me while away time by watching movies online at least I had nothing to do.

    I was still watching a movie when I heard a loud banging on my door. I wasn’t living with anyone or was I expecting someone. I looked at the time and discovered it was 10:00pm. In our area no one is allowed to be outside at that time, because dangerous things happen. The banging continued and I heard a voice “help me, pls help me. Open the door pls.” It was a female voice. I just stood at the door trembling and also fighting with my mind.

    immediately started writing.
    After spending days and nights working on Dr
    Longe’s assignment, I finally finished. It was
    late already for me to proceed back to my hall
    of residence so I decided to sleep in the
    lecture room where I just completed my
    assignment. I layed down on a long bench,
    and kept my books on the table in front of me.

    I last remembered it was 2:14a.m. before I
    dozed off. I didn’t really enjoy my sleep
    because, the army of mosquitoes that
    attacked me were more or less like the boko-
    haram sect in action. They made lot of
    annoying sounds that made me slap myself
    every single minute. I was so beleaguered by
    these vermin so I decided to sit up and
    crosscheck my assignment which I wrote in a
    foolscap sheet.

    While scanning, I fell asleep
    again; nature cannot be cheated, so I placed
    my ever nodding head to rest on the table. It
    was a nice sleep. The mosquitoes have
    retreated. I was so comfortable, exchanging
    my hands simultaneously from under my
    resting head. I began to snore. I snored very
    loud, just as loud as a locomotive train. I
    disturbed other reading students in the room.

    They were all grumbling and mumbling at my
    unpleasant sound. No one could dare wake
    me up or dare touch me because I look fierce
    and huge. The students started leaving the
    room because the enviroment was becoming
    bright. They all left me still sleeping;
    punishment for disturbing them. I was later
    tapped by a security personnel. I didn’t really
    feel being tapped so I change my sleeping
    position.

    He has no time for nonsense so he
    decided to give me a slap that got my
    sleepyhead back on track. I woke up confused.
    I was bolted from the blue when I didn’t see
    other students in the room. I swiftly wanted to
    arrange my books when I noticed my
    assignment is gone. I had drooled all over my
    assignment paper and my unremitting hand
    movement over it made it look like a papier-
    mache material.

    “Won’t you go to your hall?” the security man
    asked with a commanding tone.
    I frowned at him with one corner of my left
    eye, because my 30marks is just lying useless
    in front of me; Dr Longe’s assignment is his
    test. The security man respected his old self
    and walked away because I could daze him in
    a jiffy. I really don’t know what to do at that
    very moment.

    I don’t have much time to write
    another assignment and I can’t afford to
    forfeit 30marks, I thought to myself. The best
    option was to filch someone’s assignment. It
    was already 7:19 a.m. I hurriedly set out for
    my hall.

    Dr Longe’s lecture is for 8:00a.m. I have less
    than an hour to be prepared and get my
    filching mission executed. I got to my hall
    with the plan of just brushing my teeth and
    combing my hair; bathing was never an option
    if I really wanted to accomplish all I had in
    mind. While I was brushing, I tried all I could
    to silence the soft dissenting voice that kept
    playing over and over again in my brain.

    Although am an exco in my church fellowship,
    but never will I let that interfare in my
    academics. I will beg for forgiveness afterall, I
    smiled as I thought to myself. I set off for my
    mission. On my way I diverged to meet Bayo,
    my buddy, at the cafeteria whom I explained
    my intentions to.

    He succumb so easily
    because I bought him a bottle of maltina to
    step down the beans and bread he was
    gobbling. Our plan was well arranged before
    we arrived at the lecture room.
    It was 7:47a.m. when we entered. Everywhere
    was raucous; guys arguing loudly about the
    soccer match that was played yesterday, some
    girls were jealously gisting about the current
    Miss Nigeria; why it should or shouldn’t be
    her that won.

    Me and Bayo were sitted at the
    back of the lecture room looking all around
    like primary school pupils attempting to cross
    an express road. After meticulously searching
    for our prey, we finally found one, Sade. Sade
    is a busybody, she was busy jumping from one
    gisting group to the other. While she was away
    from her sit, Bayo made the move according
    to plan.

    He went straight to meet Sade to
    distract her away from her sitting position
    while I ransack her bag for her assignment.
    Bayo is a cute guy; girls in my class trips for
    him, so that gave him an edge to arrest
    Sade’s interest. Oh my! Sade’s bag gave me
    arduous time to open. I was so struggling
    with the zip of her bag that I obliviously
    began to sweat.

    The sweat that kept dripping
    because of fear of been caught in the act. Zip!
    It finally opened. Thank God, I almost said.
    Sade was no longer interested in all Bayo
    have to say again because Dr Longe would
    soon come in. I raised my head to see Bayo
    trying his last chance by pulling her back as
    she turned to come to her sit. My hand was
    shaking while I buried my head back to
    continue searching.

    Bayo kept trying to ignite
    the fire of a romantic gist they were having
    while Sade fumed at every bit of it.
    “Good Morning Sir!” some students greeted.
    I raised my head up quickly only to see Sade
    looking at me shocked….

    I belched and threw up right in his face.

    “You…. You are beautiful” He said as I laughed again.

    I washed my face and brushed my teeth before relaxing on my bed to play music (am a music lover).

    I was about living the bed when a call came into my phone oh it was Hannah my one and only girlfriend. Her family and mine are really close

    The line went off. I left my room straight to the dining

    My dad was fully dressed in his native attire ,an ogbu agu top, a black trouser with a red cap and his beeds, he was ready for work (that’s his normal way of dressing to work or he wears a senator attire)

    “Jake I want to inform you that you are living for Enugu tomorrow morning, so you could know your new school and collect your necessary materials to resume school on Monday”

    “OK” I said in a low tone “dad by the way what’s the name of this new school”

    “when you get there, you will know” he took his briefcase and left the dining

    I looked at him but was just silent as many things were running in my mind. Minutes later I was the only one left in the dining as I quickly rushed my tea, bread and sandwich.

    “ding dong” the door bell alarmed
    I went to check who it was and it was no other person than Hannah

    “Hannah!!”

    “Jake”

    She was putting on a dark blue gown at her knee level with a silver shoe, silver Michael kors Bag and a silver head band and the enchanting perfume she was putting on.

    The alarm on Lucas’s clock rang so loudly, and he squeeze his face trying to turn off the alarm. But his eyes widen immediately he saw the time. He gasped and got down from the bed, and dashed into the bathroom.

    He brushed his teeth in a hurry, and also took his bath in a hurry. He didn’t wash his hair, because he’d spend time drying his hair. He hurriedly put on his uniform, and rushed out of his room.

    “Lucas, come and join us for breakfast” His mom, Vivian said.

    “Sorry mom, can’t eat, I am late” Lucas said in a rush and quickly left the house.

    “Why is he in a hurry to leave?” Vivian muttered dropping the plate of baton on the table.

    “He is a rush because he has to take Jane to school” Grace, Lucas younger sister said. She is fourteen years old, and Lucas is three years older than her.

    “Even so he should have had something to eat” Vivian said, sitting down on the dining chair.

    “Have you forgotten Jane is blind? Lucas is her best friend, so he has to help her out since they both attend the same school” Grace said, eating.

    “Why aren’t you preparing for school?”

    “I’m suffering from menstrual cramps, so I won’t be able to pay attention if I go to school today” Grace said, holding her tommy.

    “You always have an excuse to give” Vivian said, and Grace giggle.

    Lucas had a smiling face as he ran towards Jane’s house. He was sweating all over, but he never stopped running until he got to her house.

    “Good morning Mrs. Roseline” Lucas greeted Jane’s Mom with a cheerful smile.

    “Morning Lucas. Don’t tell me you ran all the way here again” Roseline said, and Lucas smiled.

    “Where’s Jane?”

    “She’s inside. She has been waiting for you” Roseline said, and Lucas smiled before going to Jane’s room. He opened the door slightly and sees Jane trying to pack her hair into a ponytail. He smiled before entering the room fully.

    “Let me help you with that” He said taking the hairband from her, and Jane smiled, recognizing her best friend’s voice. Since she couldn’t see, she uses people’s voice to identify who they are.

    “All done” Lucas said brushing her hair.

    “Thanks Lucas. You are kind of panting, did you ran all the way to my house?” She asked. Lucas took in his lips before answering.

    “No I didn’t” He lied.

    Jane searched for his face, and when she felt sweats in his face, she frowned. “Are you lying to me because I can’t see? You’re sweating so much. Why did you lie to me, Lucas? Are you making fun of me because I can’t see?” Jane asked sadly, and Lucas wrapped his hand around her shoulder.

    “I am sorry bestie. I didn’t want you to worry about me” He said.

    “It’d have been better if you have told me the truth. You shouldn’t be running every morning just because of me”

    “I’m not complaining Jane, beside it’s part of exercise to build my biceps” He said, and Jane smiled.

    “Don’t ever lie to me again, okay”

    “Fine I won’t. But there’s one thing I will never lie to you about”

    “Which is?” Jane asked.

    “Your stunning beauty” He whispered to her, and Jane smiled.

    “You are not the first person to tell me that, Lucas. I wish I could see what everyone has been complimenting about” She said, sadly.

    “Don’t be sad Jane. When I become a successful surgeon, I am going to have your eyes fixed, and you will be able to see what the world looks like, and also to see how beautiful you are”

    “Then I can’t wait”

    “Just be patient Bestie. I have only few months in highschool, and after I graduate, I will go to med school, and I will study so hard, so I can fix your eyes without any difficulties”

    “And when that time comes, I will be able to own a popular modeling industry” Jane said with so much excitement on her face, and Lucas smiled.

    “Are you ready to go to school?” He asked, and Jane nodded her head. Lucas took her hand, and they both left the house after Roseline has packed Jane’s lunch. Even if Jane was blind, she goes to a normal school, and because she is blind she takes oral tests and exams unlike other students who writes with papers and pen.

    Maids bows their heads immediately Adrian came down from the car. He has a genuine smile on his face, as he looked around the beautiful mansion. He was just coming back to his town after schooling in Hong Kong for six years.

    “My baby!” Rebecca shrieked in excitement, when she came out from the house.

    “Mom!” Adrian laugh rushing to hug his mom.

    “How have you been son?” Rebecca asked smiling.

    “I have been the same just like I have left six years ago” He said, smiling.

    “You look so handsome and tall now son. I can’t even recognize you” Rebecca said, and Adrian laugh.

    “I am still your baby mom, and I will always be your baby” Adrian said, and Rebecca giggled.

    “You are really doing a great job in this town mom. I could hardly recognize it. Everything has changed from the way it use to be” Adrian said as he ate with his mom in their glamorous dinning table, worth millions of dollars for its decorations.

    “This town belongs to your late dad, Adrian, and I promise him on his dying bed that I was going to rule this town just like he did”

    “You indeed kept to his promise. You are the best mom” Adrian said giving her a high thumbs up, and Rebecca smile.

    “So now that you’re back in Dashie, what’s your plan?” She asked.

    “Well since I am done with high school, I’d like to take up medicine as a course” Adrian said.

    “Medicine?” Rebecca asked.

    “Yeah. I have always want to become a surgeon. There are many people out there who are afraid to show themselves to the world because of the way they look. I want to help them become beautiful, so they can be confident in showing themselves to the world. We also have the blinds too, they have lots of dreams to fulfill, but they can’t do that because they’re unable to see, I want to help them out by helping them see again” Adrian said.

    “Wow, that impressive son. But you’re just 17 years old. Don’t you think you should spend sometime with me before leaving again?” Rebecca asked sadly and Adrian smiled.

    “Don’t worry mom, I am not planning on entering med school now, so you have me all to yourself”

    “I like the sound of that” Rebecca said, and they both laugh.

    “Why aren’t you asking about her?” She asked a few minutes after the laugh died down.

    “Who?” Adrian asked, eating.

    “Debra. I thought she’d be the first person you will ask of”

    “We already broke up”

    “Huh!!!”

    Cameras clinks on Debra’s face as she post s*xily in front of the camera. She’s a teen model, since she’s sixteen years old. She’s no doubt from a rich family like Adrian.

    “I broke up with him because I couldn’t handle long distance relationship, but now that he is back, I am going to get back together with him. So do your job and take me to the spa!”

    “Your wish is my command” The driver said, and starts the car, while Debra laid back on the headrest, pressing her phone.

    Jane sat down on her seat waiting for Lucas to come get her. She’d have left the class on her own, but Lucas has strictly warn her not to leave her class without him.

    “I wonder what is keeping him” Jane muttered to herself.

    “Look who will have here. It’s Jane, the blind girl”

    “Stephanie” Jane muttered, recognizing her voice. Stephanie is her classmate.

    “Yeah that’s me. Are you by chance waiting for Lucas?” She asked.

    “Yes. He told me to wait for him” Jane answered innocently.

    “I’m afraid you will be the only one here in class if you continue waiting for Lucas”

    “W-why?”

    “I heard they’re having extra lessons because they’re already in their final year in highschool. The lessons will take a lot of time, but I can take you home. I’m visiting a friend of mine close to your house, we can go home together, I will guide you” Stephanie said smiling.

    “It’s fine Stephanie. I will just wait for Lucas” Jane said, but Stephanie held her hand.

    “I know we’re not close, but I am trying to be of help. You are blind, and since I have sight, I want to render my help to you” Stephanie said, and Jane smiled.

    “Thank you, Stephanie”

    “It’s nothing, let’s go” Stephanie said, leaving the class with innocent Jane.

    “Where are we Stephanie? It’s so quiet here, it’s usually busy anytime I go home with Lucas” Jane said.

    “We’re just following a short cut Jane. I will take you home safely” Stephanie said and smirked dangerously. Jane having no eyes to see where they were going kept following Stephanie, until she push her to the ground.

    “Why did you push me?” Jane asked spreading her hands widely, hoping she’d touch Stephanie.

    “You are not just blind, but stupid too. Do you possibly think I was going to help you return home after you have stolen my spotlight?” Stephanie asked angrily.

    “What do you mean by that Stephanie? I’m blind, how can I steal your spotlight”

    “Yes you’re blind, and blind people like you shouldn’t be going to a normal school when you can’t even see. My parents scolded me so hard, because a blind girl keeps getting more grades than me. I hate you so much Jane, so after you die today, no one will know I was responsible for it”

    “What are you saying, Stephanie?” Jane asked, and the next thing she heard was the sound of a train.

    “Stephanie that’s the sound of a train coming. Please take me out of here!” Jane said, fearfully, holding her chest. Anytime she is scared, she’s feels lots of pains in her chest, and can hardly breathe.

    “I won’t have brought you here if I was going to help you afterwards. After you die today, you should ask God to give you sight in your next life” Stephanie said, walking away.

    “Stephanie, please don’t leave me here!. Someone please help me!” She cried, as the pains in her chest increased. She became more scared when the sound of the train was getting louder. She couldn’t see, so she couldn’t tell if the train was already getting closer to her.

    She closed her eyes in tears ready to accept her death. There was nothing to live for, since she was blind. This was what she thought before closing her eyes. Just as the train was getting close to her, a hand pulled her away from the train’s level crossing.

    Both landed on the ground and Jane’s head fell on his chest. She opened her eyes, but the only thing she could see was darkness.

    “Are you alright?” Adrian asked.

    His voice wasn’t familiar, so she got scared after hearing his voice. “Don’t harm me I beg of you. I’m just an innocent girl who is blind” Jane said crying and at the same time trying to catch her breath, holding her chest.

    “I’m not a bad person. I just saved your life” He said, looking at her beautiful face.

    “You save my life….. Thank you” She muttered. Her eyes became blurry and her head landed back on his chest. Adrian looked at the fainted Jane, and before he could say a word, his heart skipped a beat.
