“I’m in the wrong, forgive my jerkiness, Leela please”
Leela hooked her eyes on him, and he went silent as they stared at each other.
He knew he hurt her, and all he wants right now is hearing her say it’s ok, hearing her say it’s fine, they’re fine, but she’s not saying a thing, and that prompted him to hold her face.
“Please?” He begged again, and Leela finally looked away from him.
“I’m sorry, it won’t happen again ok? I promise” he said, and she nodded once before looking up again.

She walked out of the room, and he smiled again before following her.
She was already sitting at the dinning, so he joined her.
“I cooked varieties, you can dish what you want” she said, not looking at him.
“Leela” he called, and she looked at him.
“Can you look at me like you do before? He asked, and she sat.
“How?”
“Don’t avoid my eyes” he replied, and she pouted slightly.

He smiled and dished some enchiladas for himself.
He settled in front of it and had a taste, nodding his head afterwards.
He looked over at Leela again, but she’s still not looking at him.
Somehow, he wants the jovial lively Leela who enjoys teasing and making him mad, this new her isn’t appealing.
He sighed and dropped his spoon, then he sighed.
“I lost my parents when I was still so young” he said and Leela finally looked up at him.
“My dad died on a rainy night of thunderstorm. He was actually on his way back from work when the thunderstorm started, and he got dragged away by flood” he explained, and her eyes widened.
“What!”
“Yeah, I can still remember how badly it rained and thundered that night” he smiled sadly, and Leela blinked.
“And my mum….” He said, locking eyes with her.
“My mum ended up with dementia, and she was fired from her workplace, making living difficult for us. We were chased out of our house, and we had to start living in an uncompleted building beside a river. Then one day, I came back home and found her dead. Some gunmen killed her and took away my only sister in a ship. I tried chasing them down, but I was shot in the water. Someone saved me, and when I woke up some minutes later, I found myself in the river shore, and it was already raining heavily, thunder was roaring too, reminding me of the night my father died. I ran back into the house in tears, but there was nothing I could do. My mother died already, and my sis gone… I lost everything even when I had nothing”
Jericho was already crying hard as he told his story.
“I have no idea who saved me up until now, all I know is that i went to an orphanage and grew up there, then I was adopted by a rich man when I turned fifteen. Mr Salman took good care of me, and I was starting to think of him as my new father when I found out his real intention. He actually had a sick son who needed liver transplant, his plan was to have me killed and give his son my liver, so I escaped from the house and…. And…
Jericho couldn’t continue, he landed in a pool of tears and swam sorrowfully.
Leela stood and walked slowly to him. She gently hugged his head to her chest and wiped his tears, stroking his hair just like last night.
“I’m sorry you went through all that, Jerry” she said.
She was already crying too, but she stopped her tears from falling as she consoled him.

<CITY~ANASTASIA’S PLACE>
Anastasia was smiling as she came out of her car, unable to stop thinking about the kiss with Jimmy earlier.
“He really kissed me” she touched her lips, giving it a quick lick before stepping in.
“Am I getting a boyfriend soon? Should I ask him out?” She giggled, putting on the lights, but her eyes widened when she saw Hailey sitting on the couch glaringly.
“Mum!” She held her chest, falling on the ground.
“You didn’t tell me you got a new job” Hailey rolled eyes, standing up to get herself an apple from the freezer.
“That’s because anytime I call to tell you something, you always attack me with this grandchildren of a thing and it’s sickening!” Anastasia rolled eyes, walking into her room.
“Why shouldn’t I? I’m acting like any good mother would have acted, should I remind you of your age again?” Hailey replied, entering her room with her.
“Maybe I’m getting a boyfriend soon” Anastasia smiled as she pulled off her trousers.
“Are you joking?” Hailey went closer.
“Do I look like I am? I’ll shock you I promise” Anastasia smiled, thinking about the kiss with Jimmy again.
“So who’s he?” Hailey asked, and her phone rang immediately.
She smiled immediately she saw Jimmy on the screen, and she quickly picked, walking out of the room.
“Hey Jim!” She said sweetly, playing with her hair.
Hailey glued to her back, following her around to listen to everything.
“Hey Ana, are you home already?” Jimmy asked.
“Of course, what about you?”
“Same here, I wanted to hear your voice before going to bed” Jimmy replied, and she felt her cheeks burning up.

“Should we meet for breakfast tommorow before we go to work?” He asked.
“Really? I don’t mind” she replied.
“See you tommorow then”
“Sure… Goodnight” she smiled.
“Goodnight Ana” he replied, and she hung up before jumping.
“Yes!” Hailey shouted.
“Mum you heard that right? He’s surely interested in me!”
“Of course, what should we name the first baby? Ariel or Eva?” Hailey gushed, and Anastasia hugged her.
“I’m finally getting a boyfriend!”
“I can’t wait!” Hailey hugged her back, and they laughed at once.

Leela was already done with cooking breakfast when Jericho came out of his room.
He stopped walking for a moment, and they stared at each other shortly.
She actually put him to sleep last night. He practically cried to sleep.
“Did you sleep well?” She broke the silence, and he smiled.
“Sure, thanks banshee” he replied, and she laughed, dropping the spoon with her on the dinning table.
“Can you stop calling me that? Jericoco” she said, and he laughed too, walking to her.
She walked to him and felt his temperature with her palm, and he blinked.
“I’m always hot, no need to check” he said.
“Can you shut up?” She rolled eyes, and he smiled again.
“Your temperature is back, now sit and eat” she said, and he sat on the chair beside him.
She entered the kitchen to bring out the meals, and his eyes widened when he saw the pasta she made the other time.
“I know you like it cos you ate everything the other time, so I made plenty” she said.
“Thanks, banshee” he said, and she laughed again.
“Hey Jerry, we’re the only two in this castle remember? I can just kill you” she said.
“Then bury my body in the river?” He winked, and she laughed.
“Stop teasing me!”
“Why can’t I? You enjoy doing it too” he replied.
“Just eat!” She pushed his head, and he picked his fork.
He had a taste and nodded, then he drank juice.
“I envy your future husband, he has a lot to enjoy” he said.
“I know, right?” She replied, sitting beside him.
