Sola and I resumed work in Chicago shortly after we arrived the US. Our organization had made all the necessary arrangements with our new partner and we only had to sign the prerequisite papers to officially kick off.
We were given official apartments in an estate but of course, neither Sola nor I wished to live apart, so she moved into her apartment but was literally living in mine.
I was glad that we were going to have a better chance at bonding and you know also get down, but Sola established a boundary I never anticipated.
For quite some time, I haven’t been with a woman in bed, and I was despêrate to show Sola what I could do in bed, but again, she assured me that she was old school about certain things.

I was very sad that she turned me down, but the truth in what she said was very glaring. The reason I wanted to marry her immediately was because she gave marriage as the only condition to allow me passage to her paradise of bliss, and I was dyïng to have her.
Sola and I continued to go out on dates after the day’s work and return to my apartment that was practically serving as our home.
She would cook and have us eat and play. Most times, she’ll tell me how much she loves me and even make me kiss her crãzy, but her ability to know when to make a run for it before things got out of hands would always make me marvel.
On a particular night, I got so hōrny, I was literally carrying my fully charged propagator everywhere in the house, waiting for her to finish in the kitchen and get a chance to do what I wanted to do.

There was a clause though. She reminded me that I was still married to Madonna by law, so I needed to divorce her legally before we could proceed to get married.
“The United States recognizes legal marriages conducted in other States and countries,you so whether we like it or not, I’m the eyes of law, you’re still married to Madonna.
“I don’t want to get married to you today and have to face either the law, for getting married before you previous marriage is dissolved nor having Madonna return someday as your legal wife” she told me.
I became very sad and confused. “Why is this girl always bringing up something to make me have to wait longer than I should?
“I know she had been keeping me hanging to see if I’d cheat on her because of the unsatisfied urge I was having all these months, but why was she asking me to officially divorce Madonna who is no where close to us?
“Madonna is in only God knows where, in far away Sokoto, Nigeria, and if my hunches are right, she must have put to bed now, and thinking of raising her child with Garba, and not thinking of me” I thought as I lay on my bed.
Sola had already returned to her room, a place she had called her room since we moved into the US, because she never agreed to pass the night in one room with me, not even once!
I walked out of my room and moved towards her room to talk to her, about forgetting the divorce issue and to allow us get married.
My movement halted abruptly as I heard her speaking on the phone with someone I do not know.
She had turned her speaker on, so I could hear the person on the other side, and my whole body froze when I made out the voice to be a male voice.
My head began to spin as I listened to her talk happily with the person.
“Thank you so much! You don’t know how much this means to me. I’m going to respect you forever for this” I heard her say, and tears began to flow down my face.
“So this girl has someone else too? So the reason she has been avoiding me is because she has someone else, somewhere?
“But who could that be? Could it be Chuks? Or is it possible that she found someone else and she’s still trying to make up her mind to leave me?
“Oh I see! No wonder she didn’t allow me propose marriage to her outside the confines of this house” I thought sadly and walked back to my room to mourn my hard luck with women
